YUS. I FINISHED NAPOWRIMO. 8D

April 1st, 2012

Thank you Teddy

Teddy, they laugh at me.
They hate me.
But I just want to be friends.
What should I do?

Why are you quiet, Teddy?
Help me out.
I cut myself again, Teddy.
It hurts.

They made fun of me, Teddy.
They're bullying me.
I didn't think I was that different.
Is it wrong Teddy? Being different?

Speak to me, Teddy.
They hate me.
What should I do?
I'm all alone.

Guess what, Teddy?
I made a friend.
She loves talking to me,
and meeting up with me.

Teddy, I don't need you.
She's my best friend now.
She's heard all my problems.
She's tried to help me out.

Goodbye, Teddy.
Thank you for listening.
But you never helped.
And I've finally found someone who did.

I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

April 5th, 2012 (=.=" Someone needs to write more. But someone needs more inspiration and someone needs to stop talking about herself in third person. >.>)

Trust me

I don't have secrets.
Nothing to hide from you.
I don't tell lies.
I'm not going to decieve you.
I'll stick with you,
till the very end.
I'll hold your hand,
and never let go.
We'll get through this,
both of us, together.
And we'll come out stronger,
than ever before.
That's my promise,
one I'll never break.
You can trust me,
it's not a mistake.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.

April 5th, 2012 (Not sure where I was going with this...)

The way the World works

Believe no one.
Trust some.
Remember this.
The world is cruel,
empty and heartless.
But it is good,
when it wants to be.
It seeks it's own benefit,
in everything it does.
Trust one,
and they take advantage.
Kindness is not given readily,
but it is forced out of you.
You must be guarded.
Don't always listen to their stories.
Their lies.
You will be told many.
And you may believe some.
But you must not believe all.
You must be sure,
to never let your guard down.
Never to trust someone,
who might seem honest.
Those are the worst kind.
Those are the ones,
who fool you the most;
who take advantage of you the most.
You must be kind,
to those who need it.
Lend an ear,
to someone who is upset.
Let them cry on your shoulder,
if they need to.
Comfort them,
when something's wrong.
But always be on your guard.
Be kind to it,
and it will be kind to you.
Be too kind to it,
and it will take advantage of you.
That's the way the world works.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

April 7th, 2012 (This feels like I'm writing some kind of diary. O.o Anyway,
this poem just began forming itself in my head, and I knew I needed to type it out. And voila. This is the end result.)

Come Home Soon

Tick Tock

The clock's ticking,
it's a quarter to eleven at night.
And you've not come home yet.

I'm sitting in this cold, empty room,
wondering if you'll ever come back.

I hope you didn't get drunk,
and get into an accident.
I hope you're safe,
and didn't get involved in a fight.

Tick Tock

Where are you?
Please hurry up.
Please come home.

I've been waiting for so long,
and you've not come back.

Are you injured?
Are you dying?
Are you completely fine?
Why haven't I been informed yet?

Tick Tock

I'm afraid.
Why aren't you here?
Why aren't you telling me everything's fine?

I wish you would appear out of nowhere,
and hold my hand.

Please don't leave me.
Come home soon.
I need to know you're alright;
that I'm just being silly.

Tick Tock

I might burst into tears.
I can't believe it.
Why did this happen?

I was afraid this might happen,
but I didn't think it would.

They called me.
They said your car crashed.
You might die.
And there's probably no way to save you.

Tick Tock

Your eyes are closed,
and they'll never open.
Never again.

You've got such a peaceful expression on your face.
I hope you were thinking of me.

At least you're safe now.
You're in good hands.
And you'll never get hurt.
But I'll miss you.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

This was a prompt from Cadi on Chat. And it was a lot of fun writing this. xD

April 13th, 2012

Cadi's Cake-Baking Dragons

Cadi has purple dragons,
that breathe fire and ride in wagons.
These dragons bake cake,
but to use an oven would be a mistake.

The heat from their flames is so strong,
it bakes the cakes in not too long.
They mix the sugar, eggs and dough,
and the batter is ready to go!

But be careful, though these dragons don't bite,
(They are quite cuddly, and don't really fight.)
Their cakes end up as cake mush and batter and... mush,
but you must admit it's tasty, and looks like a bush.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.

Hats.

Lot and lots of hats.
Striped ones, checked ones,
and Polka dotted ones.
Green ones, and blue ones.

Straw hats worn by farmers,
with muddy hands and giant tractors.
Bowler hats worn by creepy stalkers,
Or dancers and detectives!
Then there are fezzes,
And police hats too!

Though the most useful one,
(the one that's used a lot)
Is the one I love,
my thinking hat!

Not very good, but as Cad has written:
Cadi wrote:No-one said your pomes need be good
So even if you feel they should
Just write some scribbled words that rhyme
And you'll have NaPo done in time!
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.

So my sister was on chat yesterday, and I was watching what she was typing. I saw Mango=Misty=Niebla say something about something related to her previous name meaning "Dead Silver Mist" in some language, and I wrote this based off of that. xD

April 13th, 2012

Dead Silver Mist

The dead silver mist,
glows brightly.
Settling on swamps and marshes,
like a thick blanket.

It hides the creatures,
of the night.
That creep about,
ready to hunt for prey.

Watch out.
It's quite difficult to navigate,
on rivers and lakes.

The fog will engulf you,
and choke you.
You may lose your way,
in this dead silver mist.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

And It Repeats

The sun is setting.
Over the horizon.
Look.
It's sinking into the sea.

It looks like a mango.
Blood red,
fading into a bright orange,
and then a pale yellow.

Watch.
As the sea swallows it whole.
As the sky turns into a deep blue.
And the sun is replaced by the moon.

Pearly white,
and almost whole.
Stars surrounding it,
and twinkling in the sky.

Do you see the face,
of the Man In The Moon?
Do you see him smiling at us;
beaming, and laughing?

Now the moon is slowly fading,
into the light blue sky.
And the sun is rising again,
brighter than ever.

Soon, the cycle will repeat.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

Oompa Loompas

Those short little creatures,
green haired and orange skinned.
Romp around Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory,
singing songs and helping out.

They munch on cacao beans,
(That's not coco, mind you.)
and they come from Loompaland,
a region in Loompa!

They're quite mischievous,
and love playing pranks.

Vermicious Knids,
Whangdoodles,
Hornswogglers,
and Snozzwangers.
Their enemies,
and a big danger to them;
to get away from them,
the Oompa Loompas left Loompa,
and came with Wonka to his Chocolate Factory!

They're quite friendly,
and lots of fun.
But not very nice,
to Violet, Augustus,
Mike and Veruca.
So be sure to be nice,
and selfless and careful.
Because if you're not these little orange creatures,
will play a nasty prank on you!
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

Random poem that's kind of related to how I'm feeling right now.

April 20th, 2012

Love Me Like I Love You

I've been thinking of you,
for so, so long.
I've been missing you,
so, so much.
I miss our long conversations,
and your silly jokes,
that used to make me laugh.
I miss the way,
you cheered me up,
without even realizing that you did.
I miss that nickname you have for me,
and our long messages.
I used to love talking to you,
and I still do.
But it's starting to seem,
like you don't.
You haven't spoken a word to me,
for such a long time.
It gets to me in a way,
that makes me feel annoyed.
You're so nice to everyone,
but sometimes it's like you don't know me.
Maybe I'm thinking too much,
like I usually do.
But I'm really starting to wonder,
Do you hate me,
or love me like I love you?

---

Short poems are fun,
I've never written one.
So I gave one a try,
And made my brain cry.

---

Here's another one from me,
It's short, as you can see.
But don't be so sad,
because I know it's bad.
But don't say anything,
or I'll bring out those dragons that belong to Cad.

---

This is a rhyme,
That smells like thyme,
But it's just so fine,
because it's mine!
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

For Lyricalias, who's possibly the Number 1 Phineas and Ferb fan. xD

April 21st, 2012

Phineas and Ferb

"Hey Ferb,
I know what we're gonna do today!"
Their day begins with such simple words,
but they're not your average kids.

Phineas and Ferb,
creative masterminds,
(after a "Hey, where's Perry?")
build machines and rides,
sing songs and enjoy,
like nobody else ever can.

Their summer lasts forever,
and their fun never ends.
But then there's Candace,
for whom busting is a trend.

With their friends Isabella-
and the Fireside Girls,
Buford and Baljeet-
the bully and the nerd,
they make their summer an enjoyable time,
full of memories and laughter.

But sometimes their plans,
come in the way,
of the failed evil scientist,
Doctor Doofenschmirtz's schemes.

Luckily there's Perry,
the semi-aquatic
egg-laying mammal of action,
who destroys the Doctor's -enator machines.

Candace tries to bust them,
for doing whatever it is they do.
But somehow the rides disappear,
as soon as Mom comes home.

Their day always ends,
with a disappointed Candace,
and "Oh there you are, Perry!"
followed by "Rrrrrrrr."
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

Birds of a feather

We touched the sky,
and learnt to fly.
All of us,
Together.

We laughed and played,
and hurt and cried,
and comforted each other.

We created memories,
that will be cherished,
forever and ever.

We won't forget,
that we were once,
birds of a feather,
flocking together.

---

(So, I was supposed to write a poem on world peace. The rules were:
•Rhyming words.
•Poetic devices.
•14 lines.
•Originality.
And this is what I've come up with.)

A Day Worth Waiting For

O, you brave men,
like warriors, you fight.
But don't you long, for once,
just to see the light?

The happiness of people,
free from worry.
Without scars and injuries,
and dead bodies to bury.

To be able to show,
those peaceful playful priceless smiles.
Isn't that what you've yearned for,
all this while?

There will come a day, when there will be no war,
and that is a day worth waiting for.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

April 27th, 2012 (Long time, huh? Cliche? Yes, I think it is.)

You and I

You and I,
I and You.
Together forever,
yet far apart.

Come to me,
why don't you?
I'll cross all the lands,
just to see you.

I want to see you,
and know you,
and be with you.
Only you.

Yet you don't know,
how I feel,
what I want,
what I need.

You're so far away,
and I can't see you at all.
When will I stop hurting,
when will you know?

I don't want these feelings,
to be hidden away forever.
I want you to know,
I want to let you know.

But this distance separates us,
and I know it can never be.
But please, let me say it.
Please, know how I feel.

---

If...

If I said my heart was empty,
would you fill it with your love,
and thoughts of yourself?

If I said I missed you,
would you cross the seven seas,
just to come and see me?

If I said I loved you,
would you whisper in my ear,
"I love you too."?

If I needed to cry,
would you lend me your shoulder,
and hug me and cheer me up?

I'm falling so fast,
for you, and only you.
But you'll never know it, will you?

---

You make me laugh,
and cheer me up.
You care about me so much,
it makes me wonder.

You tell me you're here for me,
and you say you'll listen.
You talk to me and miss me,
and I start to think.

Do you say this as a friend,
or maybe because of love?

---

My love is flowing,
and showing in my words.
My poetry is filled,
with thoughts of only you.
Of how much I miss you,
even though I just saw you.
Of how much I want to tell you,
and how you might react.
Oh, if only you knew.
If only this wasn't so complicated.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

April 28th, 2012 (This is the only thing my poems are full of. I guess it's very boring and annoying. But I have my reasons. I think it's easy to guess what they are.)

Why am I hurting?
Why do I miss you?
We're supposed to be "just friends"
and nothing more.

Why do I stop myself?
Why don't you know?
I keep trying to tell you,
but the words never flow.

I don't want our friendship,
to crumble to pieces.
I don't want you to hate me,
and ignore me forever.

Why does this have to be so difficult?
Why is it so complicated?
Why aren't you right here, right next to me?
Why are you so far away?

I can't stop missing you.
I want to see you,
and talk and laugh with you,
just once.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.

I look down this flight of stairs,
I can see no end to it.
The darkness engulfs the rest.

How long will I have to climb?
How much time will my journey take?
Where will I reach when it ends?

I have this lantern in my hand,
its bright yellow light shining like a little sun.
It gives me hope,
and makes me believe in myself.

It will lead me to my destination,
It is my guardian spirit.
It will guide me through,
this long, dark journey.

I can complete this journey,
and I will come out stronger.
I will climb down these stairs,
and I will venture into the darkness.

A single daisy,
amongst thousands of thorns,
blooming beautifully.
Spilling it's yellow colour everywhere,
trying to grow and survive,
among those sharp thorns that restrict it.
Strong and determined,
never giving up.
Giving all it has,
to survive.
It's a special kind of beauty,
among so much dull colour.

I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart; I am, I am, I am.
— Sylvia Plath
