Hmmm...I do say, tis high time I found a forum that is neither barbaric nor backwards nor utterly fictitious! Anyone know of a reputable coal dealer around here? I'm quite farther from home than I intended. But then, adventures have a way of doing that to you, don't they now?
Spoiler
Sorry. Character previously had no story attached to him, but that's fixed. Bonus! I even gave him a name!

I am forced to agree- though I do love to argue, your point is rather too my own for me to find any point of weakness in it. Apologies that I cannot assist in your quest, but I'm something of a stranger myself! As you say, adventures do take you farther from home than you intend... But that is another story entirely! Perhaps you could tell me yours, though? I'd be delighted to hear it over a drink...? *proffers hip flask and smiles hopefully*

Ah yes! A most intriguing parcel arrived at my door...was it really just a fortnight ago? it seems like just yesterday! (Adventures have a way of doing that to you, too.) No one at all could be seen to have delivered it. After making quite sure that no explosives were contained within, (Oh, no thank you, I prefer tea.) I began opening the package. Within the brown paper was a wooden crate, and a metal lockbox within that. inside were a peculiar collection of notebooks, maps, charts, calculations...everything imaginable but the blueprints. I've followed the map, you see, and found these two crystals, but I've yet to see anything like the blueprints. Have you, by any chance, heard of a doctor Shteingart? He's mentioned quite often in the notebooks, and I do believe he could help.
Ah, of course! Tea, that most wonderful of all beverages! Well, I've a couple of teabags here, but I'm afraid that unless you've a kettle...? Anyway, to cease this circumlocution, I must say that your story amazes me! I have heard that name somewhere before- I knew a Shtengart in my youth, but Shteingart... it does ring a metaphorical bell, you know? I had a brother called Bogart- after the composer, but I'm sure that's no use to anyone... got himself blown up, at any rate- foolish boy! But I am rambling! Here, (leafs through notebook) I've a news sheet cutting of the young man- stayed in touch you know, says he's quite the success in the East, although I can't imagine what he might achieve all that way away... (Shows image) Familiar, perhaps? Oh, perhaps there was an 'i' in it, after all- can't read my own captions, they were written in such a hurry!

The young engineer opens a ponderous briefcase and withdraws a small automatron. A turn of the wind-up key starts the burner. "I've never seen the man, to be honest." Cooper says before casting a glance at the picture. "But I'll have a look at it, anyhow."
