Thebes replied with a message that read: "We have Athens."
Sparta wasn't worried, their reply read this: "We fear not Athens, nor you nor any other city state in Greece. We WILL rule. We WILL."
So, war broke out, it was Athens an Thebes verse Sparta verse Olympia verse Knossos and eventually even Corinth joined. This was the great war of Greece, there was no war like it. The surrounding countries knew nothing of it. They left the Greeks to fight and so they fight they did. Everyone was involved and most people died. Even children as young as five were fighting for their lives.
But every war must end...
Plot. Every single city state in ancient Greece is at war. Thebes and Athens have an alliance but besides that it's every city for itself. Sparta claimed war, leading to Athens and Thebes joining forces leading to Corinth and Olympia taking action against that alliance...and Knossos just wanted to be part of it.
Setting: Greece is very mountainous, and isn't good for close combat fighting but long range is what it's all about. There are over 400 Greek islands do fighting can lead out to them, but most of it will take place on the mainland.
