I wish to find what I can’t seek,
It mustn’t be the cane of Little Bo Peep.
It is not round nor is it fair,
But I can’t seem to locate it anywhere.
It takes no color and it possesses no weight.
I looked and looked, but as of late,
On Pluto it could very well be.
All I know, is it may never be found by me.
I had it once, long ago,
It was brought for tell but never show.
I pulled it out when need be,
Hoping that it would help me grow gradually.
It sang no tune and was unknown to many.
After all, my age group, while there were plenty,
Never truly understood this feeling I possessed within.
So I hoped to be different, to be more like them,
I even went as far as to wish on a dandelion.
So now I sulk, and dream of the past,
Oh how the mighty feeling fell so fast.
I used to stand only four feet tall,
But this never mattered from what I can recall.
Size was never thought of nor were hair color and clothes,
Life was just a little bit simpler, I suppose.
Running through sprinklers and playing on my trampoline,
I never really could appreciate what that all did mean.
Maybe I’m no princess who will learn how to fly.
But all I know is, life must have an idea of a plan so why not comply?
Although, I never will give it total control,
After all, it took my childhood as a whole.
