This is really well done, and I love the little details you've done with the pencil. When I draw, I normally go more with shadows and smudges instead of actual lines because I think it's too rough, but in this case I really like the style.
The proportions are good and the skull itself looks pretty good. I have no idea for which contest this is so I can't really help you with this as to how it fills the criteria. Maybe it would be good to add a link to the contest so people can go check it out and therefore make more in dept reviews?
Overall you did a great job! I wish you good luck for the contest.

I think you have good lines in this pic, everything looks like its placed right and nothing is out of proportion. I love the idea of a pirate skeleton, I really don't see enough of those lol x) And your signature looks really cool, the font is all piratey
I think you really need some color and shading though, to make this really jump out of the page. For the pirate hat, it almost looks like you colored it in really fast because I can see all the pencil lines, or scribbles. I think the teeth need more detail too, it doesn't look like there's a whole mouth full of them, and they aren't quite connected to the skull.
If you spent another hour or two on this I really think you could have an awesome pic Best of luck in the contest!

This is pretty good. Pirates always do look scary. Especially when they're one of the undeads. I'd rather not stare at the hook. It's too real. You're getting better at this. And I love the way you've written starlight 9. Good creativity.

This is brilliant! I love the shading on the skull and the bones, the hook is also very well done too. Just one thing that's slightly bugging me, the hat looks incredibly flat as opposed to the rest of the drawing. You should also try not to be as rough with shading and reduce the amount of white appearing through the colouring as well. Aside from those tiny points, this is a really good drawing! I love it and i can't wait to see more MysticalBlood <3

First off, I really like this! Skeletons tend to be difficult to draw, even with a reference, but you've done it incredibly well. The skull itself is amazing.
However, I agree that the hat looks a little off. Also, the tiny skull on the brim is a nice touch, but it looks somewhat like a monkey-head wearing a baseball cap; I think it's mostly because the empty nose-socket is too large, and there's something weird going on on top of its head.
The shading looks good, and overall it's a great picture.
Keep up the good work!
I aim to misbehave.
