Started ages ago. Was difficult for me but alright, practice makes man perfect. These are a few of my early (and late) Sijo

1 I watch as the monster rises from the grave, at dawn and at dusk
Looks around with his red eyes pounces kills a sweet sleeping dove
When rises the sun, when he be human, he with great pain cries he with great pain dies…

2 And if you come knock my door now, I will clearly not ask you why
I will breathe in this wild northern wind, I will scream to the clear blue sky
With my life complete with the ones I love, I will slam this door shut

3 And I would light you a fire and I would show you the way
If you walk with me for a while, I will tell you stories and tales
And if you don’t heed my call, I shall take my path and let you stray…

4 I always have something to say, there always is some thought to try on
Through these cold streets and warm lights, walking when happy or alone
There always is a song to sing, I always have a memory to cry on..

Just trying. And I will appreciate if you read it here too: http://www.thenegativesign.wordpress.com

I really like this poem. What I liked about it the most was that it flowed well that it almost resembled a song. When I started reading, and I actually was listening to music, the words actually flowed well with the music that it could have been the lyrics if we tried which is a really good skill. I'm not too familiar with asian poetry except haikus so I can't really give you a opinion about how you presented this but you managed to keep my attention. Good job and keep writing.

That is the quality of Sijo, it must have a sing song quality. Every three lines make a separate Sijo, aye
It is not that good, because the structure gets out of hand in english, just like Haiku

Well, this intro might help you

Hey There -
Wow. I was thoroughly impressed. I am Korean and I have never heard of Sijo. Go figure!

Anyway - I liked this a lot. There is a grace and flow, and as unoriginal as this sounds, it was like a river , with its currents and flows. But - this, unlike a river, had no predictablilty. I loved that. It was intesting to read. A lot of great imagery. Wonderful.

It was sad. You have a very effective style. I could feel that emotion. Nice.

Please forgive me for my lack of responce - I am in a rush tonight.

Keep it up, Euhuman!!!

Best Regards -
