Hi People!

Hi everyone! I'm Yasemin, you can call me Jasmin or with my nickname, doesn't make a difference. I'm from Turkey and I've been writing stories and poems for seven years now, which makes a lot in my life. I'm seventeen and it's my senior year in highschool. I'm going to have three exams so I can get to university, so I'm guessing I won't be active much, but I really liked the page and I have English stories so I said why not.
I love Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. But Harry Potter more, because I'm one of those who grew up with the story. I'm from Harry Potter generation! And I'm also fond of Jonathan Carroll's books, that man has an amazing imagination, and he really got me through with his style. Next in my favourite writers list comes Ursula K. Le Guin and Philip K. Dick.
I love listening to music, and I love almost every type, but mostly indie. My favourite musicians/bands are Linkin Park, Tegan&Sara, Magnetic Man, William Elliot Whitmore, and a Turkish band named TNK.
I want to be a psychiatrist in the future, and I don't know if it's different in another places but in Turkey you need to have a four-year medical education to be a psychiatrist so I have the chance to change my mind. I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was little, so it doesn't make a difference, I believe I will enjoy it.

A psychiatrist, you say? I have a friend majoring in that, and he loves it. I've always found it to be an interesting topic. I would imagine it also helps a lot with character development.

Welcome to YWS. I'm glad you decided to join because this site is really enjoyable. But be, it's also highly addictive and you'll find yourself making excuses just to login to the site. I'm kidding, but still it's a lot of fun, and even if you are not much active around here, you'll still find it hard to stay away.

Here in YWS, we always try to help one another, by writing reviews, giving tips on writing or just by being helpful in any problems that people might come across. So don't worry, you'll never be ignored or left stranded among strangers. And even if you don't come to YWS often, you'll still find people welcoming you once you are back.

So, judging from the books you've read, your interest lies mainly in fantasy and magic. Same here. I'm one of those people who also grew up with that series, and I loved it from the beginning. I haven't actually read the Lord of the Rings series, but watching the movies, I could guess that the books were exceptional. But at the moment, my favourite fantasy series is "Percy Jackson" by Rick Riordan.

You like Linkin Park? *Gives high five* So do I, and they are my favourite rock band. But I also do like country, pop and instrumental music.

Oh! You want to become a Psychiatrist? That's a really interesting job, and I can tell you this; being a psychiatrist can never get boring. Every patient is unique and totally different from everyone else. I can tell as my father's a professor in psychiatry. So, I bid you good luck on your studies.

Well I guess they've said pretty much everything, but I still wanted to welcome you anyway! I hope you'll like it here and grow like the rest of us into loving this site and in your writing!

I also wanted to be a psychiatrist then I changed my mind and now I want to be neurologist which is almost the same thing but more on how the brain works - more in-depth. But I also want to be a writer a writer, or maybe both

It's also my last year at high school, but thank goodness I will only have 1 exam to pass in order to go to university: A levels. It's hard but I'll manage! And then like you said, we've got some serious medical studies to go through. Another stack of years befor SCHOOL actually ends...

Okay, enough rambling from me. What about you? Apart from writing, what do you enjoy doing? Oh and I like the fact that you tell us you won't be active much because some people on here just disappear and it makes me sad sometimes to see them on once and suddenly they're gone forever

Searria, thank you! Well, I love to read actually but I'm not sure if I can find all the books on that page, which are not much right now. But it's a great place I can recommend the books I read.

C, hey! I can see it's addictive now, these answers are so much then I've ever seen in a normal forum site. I really think I will make excuses just to read some things. And there are really interesting stories here, so I already started to make a to-read list.
I would really recommend you to read LotR, well, to say, you think you know Middle Earth? You don't, not even when you finish the books. Tolkien's works are really unbelievable. I'm trying to read every book of his when I find them at public library. (I'm an addictive of public library, there are some great book that I've never even heard of.) About Percy Jackson, I once started to read the first book, then I couldn't continue, so it's still on my list right now.
Oh, your father is really cool! A professor? Nice. I'm planning to work on multiple personality disorders especially, I can definitely put my heart on them.

Mikko, thanks Well, to say, you can always be a writer, if you just want to, that's what I think. Well you need to have the talent and stuff, ignore them. I really think I can finally start writing my book projects at medical school-and after.
So nice to know there's so much people that like Linkin Park! They are the best rock band. I mean, I listen to a lot of bands, but nothing is like them. I always say 'A Thousand Suns can bring immortality to us all!'

Well, apart then writing, I think I'm someone who enjoys doing stuff by myself. I love listening to music and read, and I sometimes draw, some amateur animes and surrealistic things. And I make oilpaint. Mostly not mine, I paint pictures I find from the internet. Last year I made one for art class, which originally belonged to my mother's friend, who's an artist. And she's really talented.
But I really enjoy going out, drinking with friends. And/or just rambling around and laughing. Oh, I laugh A LOT. I laugh at everything. Even the worst jokes, I first laugh and then say it was bad. It's really silly sometimes.
