I want peace,
I want quiet,
I want tranquility.

People around me,
They keep talking.
They keep babbling,
And I don't listen.

Why can't they be silent?
They just ramble on.
They talk and talk,
Because the silence seems "awkward".

I want to be where I am free.
Free to be silent,
Free to keep quiet.

Being quiet is natural for me.
Silence makes me feel at peace.
Nature is peaceful.
Why can't I be?

People around me,
They tell me to talk.
When there is no topic,
For us to talk about.

"Leave it be.", I think.
"It's quiet and peaceful,
So please,
Just leave it be."

People say I'm talkative.
They should hear themselves.
They go on for hours,
And they just can't stop!

If you want to talk,
Talk to someone such as yourself.
I like peace and tranquility,
So please, just leave me be.
I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest.
The trees keep the tempo and they sway in time.
Quartet of crickets chime in for the chorus.
If I were to pluck on your heart strings would you strum on mine?

Hi there!

I really like this. I know exactly what kind of people you are talking about here (you know, with the whole quiet thing). Some of my friends are like that. Anyway, you did a good job with this poem. I like how you repeated words in the middle of a stanza. Instead of repeating it in the whole thing, you just kept to two lines. That gives it an interesting rhythm. It changes every so often, but only once you hit the repeated words. I've never read a poem that does that. Cool!

Overall I really enjoyed this. Sorry this is a short review, I didn't have any critiques. Keep writing! :)

Hi there! Firstly, thank you for the follow. Next, and most importantly, your poem. I love it because I feel like this fits me perfectly. I am always just content to keep silent and enjoy the silence around me(when I get the chance). However, I had a few "critiques". Although some words rhyme, there is no overall rhyme scheme. Somethimes, though, not rhyming and just going completely free-form is the way to go, but I feel like this poem is not one of those. Also, there are some minor puntuation issues and alot of the word choices are what many people might consider "childish". This is not to offend, but to make you better. You did a wonderful overall job and I love the message you conveyed through this poem and how you conveyed it! Well done and keep writing!

Iluvit!
'Cus it describes me perfectly! People at school are all like,"Why don't you talk?" It gets SOOOOOO annoying! I can't really critique it because poems aren't my forte, I just wanted to say how awesome it was :b So like, keep writing stuff!

This is really nice, i like the effortless flow of it, it has a kind of up beat rhythm kinda like a poetic rap , rather than the slow one of most poems and that's really cool, but maybe its a little to jumpy, but i guess that's what gives it its x factor, really nice... and yes you do have a point, which you brought across well, some people talk tooo much!!! hehe...likey alot!!!
Mizzz Oh!!!! Oh Oh Oh Can write!!!

Quick reply: saw your name (Harry Potter does rock!), and saw the word Tranquility in your poem, you had an unfair advantage before I even got into it. :) I loved your poem although I feel you could expand a bit and maybe don't keep saying that people talk so much and you want silence? Find others ways to say it, like describing silence and how it makes you feel. But I totally get what you are trying to say and you said it beautifully so lovely poem!! So relatable. Keep writing! This is what we do. Lift our eyes to the snarl and smile of the world once more. With love: the passionate search for a truth other than our own. With longing: the pure, ineffable yearning to be saved. For so long as fate keeps waiting, we live on. God help us. God forgive us. We live on. - Shantaram
