This was a very good piece!

What I liked:
The emotion was visible.
The sketching was amazing!

What was OK:
The mane on Simba was a tad off; sort of shaggy.

What you should work on:
I strongly strongly STRONGLY suggest copying this over to normal copy paper. The lines distract me.
Take time coloring in! The right hues and textures can make or break a picture, and it almost broke this one.

Overall:
I can see the obvious effort and suggest you redo it on blank paper and color in well. I loved it, and thanks for the piece!

Hi Sion, Kae here for a really quick review. :P

Well, you definitely did well making sure that the lion looked like Simba. Nice job.

But, I wish that I could see him better! Perhaps you could outline Simba a bit more, so he stands out? Outlining/darkening all your lines and making them stronger would improve your art a lot. Also, I don't really care for the way the sky background is colored; I think it would look better if it was colored with longer, more even strokes.

Good work. Hope I helped, keep on drawing!

Hey Sion xD This is very nice! My favorite thing was Simba's face, I could clearly see the expression there and it definitely added emotion to the picture! Also, the way you drew him in perspective was really interesting. He definitely didn't look flat or 2D, so great job there.

You're line art is very clean, but the coloring distracts from it a bit. The background especially looks rushed. I have the same problem with rushing through backgrounds (if I even draw them at all! xD) so I can relate to you. The truth is, in order to make them look good, you have to spend some time on them. Make sure the lines are all going in one direction, yours seem like they are waving around. I can also tell where you started your 'rows of scribbles' (where you go back and forth with the pencil). You want to make those invisible, and blend them as much as possible so that it seems like one solid color. Also try to avoid white areas! (places that get missed by your pencil and end up not getting colored) :)

Oh, and you did a good job on the hair too ^_^

I agree that this would've stood out better if you had outlined Simba. Just going over your lines again with black pen would do the trick!

I hope this was helpful! Thanks for letting me know you posted, and keep updating me when you put up new work! :D

I am terrible at drawing, so when I look at this, all I see is AWESOME!!!!!! I think that the way you colored wasn't shaggy or messy, I think it's creative and artistic!
I am a PUZZLE
yet to be put TOGETHER

But at the same time, I'm just one PIECE
still trying to figure out where I FIT IN

Amazing, you're very talented at drawing. Overall, you're very good with lions, you've got their elegant, yet strong and noble physique down alright.

And also, even without the title I'd be able to know who this was. I think the mane is brilliant, they have their own unique way of doing it I think in the lion king saga, and you've represented that quite well c:!

What I suggest you do next time is instead of using colored pencils (I assume you've used them), use pastels. Since this is South Africa, pastels would be great since they give that 'dry' effect. And also, use warmer colors. Try to make the sky somewhat more amber, considering Africa is famous for its beautiful sunsets. Also, try to make the rock a little more textured.

If you're this good with lions, I'd love to see some other animal drawings from you :3
