Spoiler
Okay soooo,
I wrote this about two years ago when my parents were having their divorce.
I'm better now. For those experiencing this, I promise you there is a light somewhere, waiting for you.
So never give up.

Happy kids make me jealous.
My heart beats in time with your vulgar words.
My handwriting on crumpled paper
I
Didn’t mean to make you mad
Never
Wanted to feel your hand on my cheek. But I did.
Wanted
To belong. To be in your arms.
This
Is too much.
So now, I know there is one thing I must do.
Escape.
Escape from the skin I’m in.
I stare at the needle in my hand.
Wishing whatever was waiting for me out there would be better.
Better.
Hot liquid surges through my veins.
You
Race into the room, but it is too late
Never
Leave my side again.
Wanted
A better life.
Me.
No, sir. I am not crazy. I just have a vast amount of beautiful imagination.

Spoiler
Imprisoned beneath is where the souless dwell.
Lies a place that the damned call home.
A place where the virtuous hide in fear.
A place we only see in our nightmares.
A place where the sun is silent...

Hi!

I have one suggestion! I think everyone would read the red first, I know i did. And it summed everything up. I didn't feel that it justifyed the rest of the poem reading. I think the red should be removed but the format be left the same, and it would help the poem loads!

keep writing and ask me anything!

I really like this! My parents were divorced when i was to young to really feel anything. But they got Remarried and My dad and step mom almost got a divorce a year ago and i was stuck in the middle of it. So this really spoke to me, My parents worked it out so that was my Light.

I like the red words, they emphasize the poem well. And your vocabulary is awesome lol. I'm sure this poem will speak to a lot of people, because this goes on a lot! So well done on this, and keep writing because your amazing! :)

I like how you did the red. It was very unique. I thought this would be a sappy cliche love poem when I first saw the title. I'm glad it wasn't. Your word choices are awesome. Keep on rhyming! :)
Please take care to use good grammar when making a post!

I thought this was amazing. I understand what you mean, execpt my parents were never married, I was kind of what happens when I condom breaks and the woman forgets to take birth control that day. When I lived in Botswana with my mom, I always felt alone, and how your story discribes the protagonist. I also love the hidden message in the poem, and how you make it very clear what the message is.
