All right. My name is Brittain Sluder. I'm 21 and from Asheville, NC, US. I just found this site tonight and, frankly, I don't know if I'll stick around or not. In the interest of full disclosure, and as my title says, this is simply blatant self-promotion in an attempt to get readers, of which I have about none. I have several short stories, almost all quite different from the rest, though my motifs/themes seem to revolve around ego, Taoism + Perennial Philosophy, and such things.
Some examples: "The Wellspring" is perhaps Borgesian in influence, somewhat experimental, and involves the Radiant Queen Ishmaella venturing across the Sea to the Limits of reality. "The Hole and the Some" is a metaphorical parable kinda deal about, you guessed it, a hole in the ground and some people trapped in it. "The Wrecking of the Lady Fortune" has a Muslim motif, which was a change for me, and chronicles the survivors of a Spanish supply vessel in the mid 1550s. Others include stories about a Colossus, anthropomorphic dogs, a literal world of gray, a giant and unsolvable labyrinth, a mysterious and surreal hallway, an eternal Grove, a dialogue between Taoist students, and more, with more in progress.
I have one novella called "The Electrician's Gift" and is about a man named Javor that gets struck by lightning and gets a superpower. It is influenced a lot by Tesla mythos and has Javor, his best friend Emil, testing out their new power(s) and making a new life in the world.
I also have several poems, though they're a side attraction for me and vary much more in quality.
I've tried to present these ambitiously, but honestly. In advance, thank you.

Feedback appreciated, albeit not intentionally sought.
PS: if you get this far and check my site, and if you like hip hop, listen to my brother's song I have posted. I'm biased, but he's pretty sick.
EDIT: I performed a cursory read of the rules, so I hope this is the correct sub-forum!
