These are my three art projects for this year's county fair. Comments are appreciated (but I already know the gorilla could use more shadows, and also that his left arm and hand are disproportionate). Thanks!

Africa on My Mind.jpg
This was originally a collage I made on one piece of posterboard, but it had too much blank space. So I cut it up and put it back together like this.

Gorilla.jpg
I saw this gorilla at the Toledo Zoo last summer. Unfortunately, most of his body was covered by reflections of people's t-shirts in the glass surrounding the enclosure, so I sort of had to imagine what most of his body looked like. I know his left hand is too small, and also I want to make the area around his left eye darker.

Inside In.jpg
This painting goes with my poem "Inside In." I'm curious to see how the fair judges will react to a 4-Her showing a painting of a pregnant lady...

I don't know how to review art, so I have nothing helpful to say... But I thought this were great. I especially liked the last one, and now I am going to go search for your poem. I'm curious to read it now. :D So, anyway, you've got talent. Good job.

Collages aren't really my thing, so I won't comment on that one, since I can't really tell you what you did right or wrong with that one.

The second one is rather good, like you said it needs a bit more shadowing, but the shadows in his face are really good. If you only took his head and face, it would be really great, the rest would need a bit more work, to be perfect. But you captured his stance and build really well.

The last one has fantastic colours and of course it fits very well with the poem (went to reread it, maybe you should post it here as well). I thought that you might have to practice drawing pregnant women a bit more, the proportions are slightly wrong. Her belly is just a tiny bit too big (she might feel that huge, but she isn't). And her breast is slightly too high on her torse. Other than that, she's beautiful. I think you put her in a very fitting pose, slightly worrying, but also caring and protecting in a way.

Well, I don't think I've got anything else to say...

Hey blueafrica,
I have done collage once before but I don't know much about reviewing them, but I'll try :)
- So when I saw your collage, I was guessing if you were gathering all those small pictures in a way that looks like Africa continent. Am I right or is it a wrong guess? Personally, I love this idea about gathering african stuff; palm tress, gorillas, giraffes & the sunset all together to give the shape of the Africa continent. ( I am from Africa too :D ) If it was like I have guessed, try to draw the african continent border more accurately to give more of its original shape on the map. Also, cut some parts from the left of the girl's photo. Overall, the collage looks lovely and gives a lot of description from the photos you have placed.
- The gorilla's picture looks to me well drawn. Seems that you have tried so hard to imagine what most of his body looks like, great job! Remember to go on with the shading.
- The third painting of your is so lovely. I love the background and those golden curves.

Hey there =] The collages were awesome, especially the first one I think. But the last one had really good characteristics as well. Like with what you did on the right.

The gorilla. Okay. The face is phenomenal. It's brilliantly shaded. Had you shaded the rest of the body that way, it would be absolutely just. wow. It would have kicked butt =] I see where you were going with it, and the proportions are okay, except for what you said about the head and arm. But you have a really good start here. Very nice indeed =]
