I guess I'll just write what I feel.
Dear Sergio,
The past few years haven't been easy between us, I know that. I also know that I've made things complicated. It wasn't love at first sight, but I did feel something when I heard your name, or when I heard your voice say my name.
I remember the day when we first started talking; my brother gave me your phone number, and when I got a response from you, I felt undeniable joy. That was when I was in Colorado, in 2008.
I remember the discussions we had about everything; love, why people fight, music, anything and everything that came to mind. I also remember how you broke my heart the first time I asked you out. I remember, from then on, that you were the one I needed.
You were patient, you were kind, sweet, caring, and most of all, you were there for me. You became my best friend when Page couldn't be there; you became my shoulder to cry on when I needed one. You never stopped caring. In fact, when I did ask you out again later, you said you didn't want people to make fun of us, to laugh at us.
I remember all of that.
And although you broke my heart, you had it in your hands. You took my heart, because I loved you. I still do. I fell in love with you because you never stopped caring for me, and you never let up on your patience with me.
I remember nights where you wouldn't respond to my text messages, and it hurt so much that I screamed into my pillow.
I told myself that you were doing something better than dealing with me, and that some day you were going to be the one wiping my tears away, and holding me close.
All I think about is you, and making you happy, because seeing you smile, and hearing your laugh makes my heart double over.
Even after football and you high five everybody, that quick contact with your skin was enough to make me crumble down to my knees.
I never stopped liking you; even when I told you I was over you, I didn't stop, I just pushed back the feeling.
I don't go a day with out thinking of you, and I don't go an hour without wishing I was yours, and you were mine. I don't go a week without wishing you would hold me and tell me I am special. I wish you would.
Even if you broke my heart, and even if you think I am annoying, I'm willing to forgive you, and stop. All I want is for you to be happy, to smile at me, to look at me and see me. To kiss me, and mean it. Even if its just once.
I need you because you care, and there are not many guys like you out there.
There aren't a lot of guys who are that patient, or who accept me for who I am, or who can break down my walls that I so carefully put up.
You did that. You saw through my walls, and made them crumble. Over time, yes, but you did it. Not many guys care to do that. You did. That's why I love you. Because you changed me for the better, when no other guy cared to. Because you were hopeful enough to do that, and you did. You got past those walls, and you stayed.
I will always love you to some extent. I can't stop, and to be quite honest I don't want to. Because sometimes, you're the reason I wake up in the mornings and sift through my day, taking things one thing at a time. Because every time I see you or hear your name, I get a shiver up my back, and my heart pounds wildly. And when you touch me, even in the slightest second of a brush of skin, my heart stops, and my breath catches in my throat.
Is it so wrong to like you when you can do that to me?

p.s.
I'm sorry.
