Black and bitter. White and sweet.
I drink you with my morning treat.

Coffee, oh coffee
made of nuts and full of caffeine.
Coffee, oh coffee
Your surface shimmers and gleams.
You smell so good, my nose starts to hurt.
It's really too bad you taste like dirt.

Your hot touch burns in my belly
As you awaken my sleeping mind.
Your cool caress soothes my temper,
and leaves all my worries behind.

I warned you this would be short. If I can muster up any more coffee related tidbits of poetry they shall be posted here.

Haha I like that! It explains my relationship with coffee perfectly. I only smell it, I don't like it. =P Ew it tastes so... blah! Haha. Loved how it didn't all rhyme but it all sounded great together. Keep up the great work and tell me when you post more!

Hi,

I really enjoyed this. It made me smile and the tone and rhyme work very well. I especially enjoyed the opening couplet and "It's really too bad you taste like dirt."

"Caffeine" is one of the few exceptions to "i before e except after c". "Sooths" should be "soothes," though I think a two syllable word would be better here. I thought "Leaves all my worries behind" was a bit dull - I'd try for something fresher.

A pleasure overall.

Hope this helps,

Jas

Coffee is my addiction, so these poems were definitely amusing to me. Thanks for the laugh. :)
