The image was only a picture in my head, that I didn't remember ever occuring. So I didn't think anything of it. I was however very happy to see Emily. Her smile calmed me down, made me feel like everything would be okay.

She wasn't smiling now though. She looked at me worriedly and offered me her hand. I took it, and with some struggle stood up.

"Jake, What were you trying to do?"

I limped my way back to the bed, "The door was open, I was just going to shut it."

"You could have asked someone to help you." Emily said matter of factly.

I felt foolish, of course I could have done that, but for some reason I had felt it so necessary that I take the risk and do it myself. All I could do was shrug.

Emily shook her head but said nothing more, I wondered if she maybe understood what I didn't have the courage to say out loud. That I needed to know I wasn't helpless, that I could take control.

Instead she changed the subject, "I just talked to your mom and your doctor, they said you could go home tomorrow."

This was news to me, "I can go home? What about school, when can I go back to school?"

"As soon as you're ready, This accident has made you quite popular amoung our fellow students. It's all anyone could talk about today." She finished with a small laugh.

I liked her laugh.

Suddenly a new thought occured to me, what would be waiting for me at home? What was my family like?

Emily sat on the bed next to me and sighed. She kept her eyes glued to the floor, as if she was afraid to look at me, "It must be super strange for you, not remembering anything. And then having all these strange people come up to you and tell you how much they were worried about you and stuff. I mean they're like total strangers to you! You must think we're all pretty nuts.It has to be pretty unnerving, and scarey."

She pretty much nailed it, I didn't want to admit that to her though. "It is pretty strange having everyone know more about me than I do. That and having to have my mom introduce herself."

I glanced at her, "and then having my friends describe my own girlfriend." I didn't know where the courage to say that came from, but I now had to work with what I had said.

Emily gave a small gasp but kept her eyes fixed on the floor.

"I hear she's super sweet and very beautiful." I said quietly hoping that she would look at me. I had no idea where I was planning to go with this.

It worked, she looked at me with tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry, I would have told you I just didn't want you to think I was crazy or anything."

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault I don't remember." This time I stared at the floor, "I just wish I could." I mumbled.

Emily moved her arm as if to put it around me, but then decided against it and brought it close to herself awkwardly.

"You probably need some sleep, I should probably go." She said after awhile of us just sitting there.

She stood up and started for the door.

I watched her sadly, "Emily I..."

She flipped around, I saw tears slip from her eyes, "Jake, it's okay. We'll find some way through this," she said with a broken voice.

She walked out quickly, before I had the chance to say anything more. I was more angry than ever. Somehow this was my fault, this whole thing was my fault. I was the reason all these people were upset, why Emily was upset.

I wanted to punch something, bad. Did I have anger management problems before?

I punched a pillow as hard as I could. Then I did the most un-manly thing ever, I cried.

I sobbed into my pillows until they were soaked through. I hated myself, I hated the fact that I didn't remember anything, that I was the cause of all these people's sorrow.

The old man walked back in. He gave one look at me and then stepped back out. He didn't say a word.

You see, there's this guy code that it's not cool to watch a fellow bro, you know, loose it. I guess he was pretty cool to respect that.

At the time I didn't notice, I just cried until I fell asleep.....

I love this novel so much, you can go very far with this my friend! :)

The plot was amzing from the start and just keeps getting better!

The picture of Emily and Jake is excatly what I pictured them looking like! Good job with that!!

I literally laughed out loud for this part for a couple minutes, I don't know if you meant it to be funny? To me it was. :D

A few things I noticed....

It lacks some detail, you have good detail, but I believe you can add more in. Describe more emotions, you did very good with the emotions at the end of the chapter. The beginning however is lacking emotions, tell the readers what he feels when Emily walks into the room. Make the reader be dieing for more! You are doing that, just do it better!

Also a few errors, but there easy to find so I will let you do that!

Overall I think this novel is just amazing, and I think it's just going to get better as it goes on!

Write more soon!!!
