Summer and the Fireworks

Well I seem to go through periods where I am never on this site. BUT. Here I am, with some new fourth of July pictures ready for critique. I snapped these firework and sparkler pictures right after a lovely barbeque and just for fun, so I know they are nothing spectacular. But it was fun shooting them and I love getting critique or just general feedback so I can know what I am strong in and what I need to improve. So here goes.

Hey! Great job with these.

Since I didn't get to see any (yes, I mean none - sad, isn't it?) fireworks on the fourth I really enjoyed your pictures! (Especially the last one - that's so cool looking!) Now... Onto the nitpicks.

1. This one was ok. I think it would've been better if there was only two fireworks in the picture (three is a little much), and if there was no smoke. I know you can't control the smoke but taking it earlier would've fixed the third firework. Also, crop it a bit so you can't see the ground underneath the fireworks.

2. Wow. I love this one. Just... See if you can crop off a bit of the white line underneath it, it looks kind of weird.

3. Ooooh! Aaaah! This one is coolio! I think that it'd be better if you blacked out those little specks to the right of the biggest firework.

4. This one is ok, I just really wish there was no smoke in it... Is that the smoke or a smudge on your lens (or something) that's blocking out the fireworks in the bottom...?

5. This one looks very pretty - I actually like the fuzziness the smoke gives it and the white lines look like the stems of a couple of flowers

6. LOVE this one - it looks SO cool! Only thing is: What's that whitish blob in the bottom middle of it?

Thanks so much! And actually the smudge is my sisters legs. She was the one making the shape and so she was semi in it. And yes, the firework with the smoke covering it would have been my favorite picture but some one decided to start a bonfire in front of me. Thanks again, these critiques really help.

Hello there =] The first and the last one are really cool. The ones in the middle are just fireworks. What sets these two apart from the rest? The first one has loads of texture. You see the smoke in the back and it sort of reminds me of a star getting swallowed up, or maybe one exploding. And the last one is just really neat. I wish we could see the person in the back a little better. But other than that its really cool. =] The ones in the middle, like I said before, don't show us anything extremely fantastic or interesting. They're fireworks. Overall, these are really nice. But some of them just need a touch more. Well done =]

1. If that odd mass of smoke wasn't covering the left side of the picture, this would have been excellent. Actually, the smoke gives it a kind of diluted texture, which appeals to me, but there is a tad bit too much of it there.

2. My favorite. The colors are magnificent. Almost looks like some post-modern piece of artwork, not a photograph of a firework. Anyway, I have no critiques for this one.

3. Also great, but this one didn't really stand out as much. Perhaps it's a bit duller than the others, color-wise. Those three little lines (of smoke?) near the bottom seem a bit off-balance, and draw the attention away from the main attraction.

4. Smoke seems to be especially dense for this one. I'm not sure whether it would have turned out anyway, but the fact that a slice of the lower firework was missing just didn't work for me.

5. A liked this one as well. If the fireworks were a bit larger (zoomed in), this would have been able to compare with picture #2. Even now, though, I very much liked it.

6. Would have been amazing if the person standing in the background would move out of the screen. J.K. Rowling would be proud.

Hey, I like them all. They look so clear and beautiful. All have different colors and they're eye-catching. The very last one is very interesting. The symbol of deadly hollows. It's something that catches everybody's attention
