Hello everybody, I am a new member to YWS and I must admit this website is amazing!! Actually, I have been looking for that sort of a social network where artists and writers can post their works. I also love here the idea that everybody is reviewing each other's work which is probably what I have been searching for and found it on YWS.

My real name is Nancy but you can call me with my nick (starlight). Drawing is my main talent so probably most of my posts here will be my artworks. I love reading novels ( especially classics ) and as classic English literature is my top favorite, my favorite author is Charles Dickens.

As for drawing, I love NATURE, you will find most of my drawings about the sea, butterflies, flowers. I love Anime too, but I have never tried drawing one before ( except for Yo.gi.oh when i drew it when i was little kid :) but i might take the risk & post my first anime drawings here. I always find them hard to draw.

I am gonna post my artworks here soon, waiting for you to review them and I will do the same :)

Welcome, Starlight!

I'm Dreamwalker but most people just call me Walker ^_^ You can call me whatever you like, though.

Its a pleasure to see a fellow Dickens fan here. What is your favourite of his pieces? Mines balancing between David Copperfield and The Old Curiosity Shop. Either way, what he writers is generally fantasic.

And its cool you like to draw! I dabble in artistry as well though am prodominantly a prose writer at heart. Drawing and painting to me go hand in hand with poetry. I may not be great at either, but they are both lovely things to do!

Enough about me, so are you enjoying your first day here? ^_^

If you have any questions, need a review, or just merely want to chat it up, feel free to PM me anytime and I should be there in a jiffy!

~Walker

Hi Starlight9!

I'm Miracles, no points for figuring that out. :D

Welcome to this site, I guess. I hope you like it here. I know I do. :)

Although I'm not really all that good at reviewing artworks, I'd love to have a look at your drawings. Especially drawings about natures, I love photos or drawings about nature. They're just so beautiful and wonderful.

Another thing, I feel inclined to point out is: no chat speak. I saw you doing that in some of your replies. That's one of the site's rules: no chat speak. Since YWS is predominantly a writing community, so good grammar is encouraged. Next time you post something up, remember, no chat speak.

That's all for now, I guess. Hope to see you around! :)

Welcome to YWS Starlight! I'm Grif, one of the many friendly moderators here on YWS. You can see for yourself how friendly everyone is. That said, if you run into any trouble with anyone or anything, just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Miracles is right about the chat speak, but she didn't quite cover the motivation for it. Chat speak is discouraged on YWS because it uses improper spelling and grammar. On the fast paced chatrooms online, you sacrifice the grammar and spelling for the speed. But YWS is a web forum, which allows you much more time to compose your thoughts. Using chat speak on any other chatroom wouldn't raise any eyebrows. Using it on a forum just makes you look uneducated (which is clearly not the case, as you like classic literature.) No worries though, people here recognize that it's used everywhere else and that new members may not be used to that sort of speech here.

It is worth noting that this rule applies even on the YWS chat room. This isn't too bad though, because the folks here have so much practice typing grammatically correct sentences that typing them quickly isn't any strain at all.

Welcome! It's always great to have another literature lover here. : )
