Hi, I'm new here (obviously).

My name's Rachel, I'm 17 and from England.

I write poetry mostly, but I'm hoping to get back into writing prose- I just don't have the ideas for it!
I was really happy to find an online writer's society, because I'm always looking for decent criticisms on my work and think the experience of critiquing others is a valuable and necessary one in improving my own ability to write.

Also, I'm applying for university this year- English lit with creative writing, and hope to build a decent portfolio! I need something to prove to Warwick im not a total idiot... XD

So... Yeah! Hi!
Wow... I hope you guys are friendly...

Give it about a day and count the number of greetings you'll get. ;)

Hello and welcome! We've got quite a few folks from England around, which is pretty fun when you're wanting conversation at some odd hours. We're a pretty international community so you can come online at any time and there's activity. ^^

You've certainly come to the right place for constructive comments! YWS is one of the best there is for improving, and if you check out contests (in the header, between community and discovery works) then you'll get plenty of prompts! Hopefully a few of those create some awesome portfolio pieces for you. :)

PM me if you need anything! I'd be happy to show you around the site. ^^

Hi Rachel!

I'm here to prove Rosey right. Welcome to YWS! I love England (as an American who lived there for 6 months). There are lots of folks from all over the world here which is really fantastic!

I love YWS's critiquing system and I think you'll find that everyone here knows how to give great critiques. So get out there and enjoy it! And if you have questions feel free to PM me!

Hey, your name is Rachel well mines Rachelle. I'm from Canada but I have a friend in England :). Rosey is right, this is the perfect place to come and get constructive critism. I've grown a lot as a writer from the people here. They get you to notice the little mistakes or confusing parts you miss. You get another persons perspective..a second opinon to help you out. This is perfect place to start your portfolio! To show to Warwick you are a genius. Good luck, I hope to see your work around here. Ever need someone to review just PM me or write on my wall. :) Wicked <3
