Not As They Seem
Chapt. 5

In many books or movies, after something very dramatic occurs, you expect the main character (which is me), to have some strange seductive dream of what is going to have next or to chat with the person who caused the conflict.
Well I did……and it wasn’t seductive but definitely strange.

Don’t ask why, but my dream began in Starbucks. The scent of coffee and pastries wavered in the air and the normal talking of customer echoed in the air.

I was sitting at a table, drinking what I usually ordered in real life when I really do go to Starbucks. I was alone, of course, and casually sipping my dream. It was as if the slow mode button was clicked on when a totally handsome man strolled into the café. I stared with my mouth hanging wide open, the coffee in it spilled onto my lap. He glared at me then walked out.

I winced inwardly and wiped up the coffee in my lap. After I got it up, I dumped the damp napkin on my table and looked up to see the vampire who caused all this. I squeaked, reeling back in my seat and nearly falling onto the floor.

His face was emotionless and stern, he just stared at me with his gorgeous grey eyes. My stomach clenched and I sucked on my bottom lip.

“I don’t see how you don’t have a boyfriend,” he grinned, materializing a cup of coffee out of thin air, “you’re very beautiful.”

My heart fluttered and I felt the hot rush of blood as my face flushed, “I’m a bit………socially awkward………..”

The look in his eyes said that he didn’t believe me. I sipped at my coffee.

“I suspected you’d beat your first encounter with one of my minions,” he chuckled, “your next challenge will not be as easy.”

I frowned and narrowed my eyes, “you turned my cat into a monster!” My fat, creamy orange cat was now a vampire! And wanted to kill me…….

“You love it,” he murmured, his eyes dark and glowed a tinted red, “And I told you anything you love will become like me……….unless………..” he
leaned forward, his face inches from mine, “You decide to come with me.”

I held my breath, staring at him with wide eyes as my stomach clenched. I tightly shook my head.

He sighed, pulling away from and just staring at me. For a minute, I actually saw humanity in them. I couldn’t look away.

Phil was the sexy, athletic jock, the type of guy girls dreamed about at night and hung his picture on their bedroom walls. But Jonathan was the mysterious rogue, a loner and a killer, stalking out who he wanted and doing what ever it took to get it. They were from two separate worlds, totally different and totally handsome.
He stood, “When you decide to come with me,” he reached into his pocket and passed me a necklace. The chain was silver and at the enter, a small purple orb sat, “break it and it’ll summon me.”

I stared at him as he slowly strode from the table and out of the café.

At the end of my dream, I used a ten dollar bill to pay for my food and it was literally gone from my purse when I woke.

It was around ten in the morning, rain trickled down and tapped on the windows. I tossed a raw steak into the laundry pantry for Cookie, being careful not to be dragged into and chopped on. Phil was still asleep, curled up on the couch and snoring softly. The nightshade sat on the table also; I didn’t even want to look at it.

I needed a plan, something that’ll get me out of all this.

You can always marry him. That solution sucked.
I glanced down at the necklace around my neck. It was stuck, glued to my skin and I couldn’t get it off. Phil will wonder where it came from.

It was a stupid idea to drag Phil into this, I loved him and he was going to get hurt. He was only a human but the strange thing is, how did he know about all this kind of stuff?
I shrugged the idea off and trudged to my computer. Plopping down in the chair, I searched around the Internet, exploring different articles on vampires, hoping I could get some inspiration for an idea.

As I scanned through the page, a werewolf article blinked to the side. Since I’m totally not aware of viruses, I clicked it. The page popped up quick, revealing pictures of drawn werewolves and tips on them. Behavior, diet, and their looks flashed onto the page. My eyes came to behavior.

Lycan have a tendency to eat meat often. Many people can assume this, knowing what a werewolf is or not. Scientists call them lycan, the social public call them “werewolves”. Mainly what it is, is a wolf and a man mixed. Their senses are enhanced, they’re attractive the to public, and act different at night. They are very secretive and mate for life.

Mate for life…..? I kept reading.

Werewolves have a tendency to be aggressive and angry. They will fight and if they become angry enough, they’ll turn in their lycan form. Also---

“Robin? You awake?” Phil’s voice echoed into the computer room and I gasped, turning off the monitor quickly.

“Y-yeah! Give me a minute!” I stumbled to the door and slammed it shut.

“Why? You okay?”

“Yeah, I um---” I feel stupid….. “I’m naked!”

“Naked?” Phil’s footsteps stopped and his voice was full of question and a slight hint of curiosity, “in the office?”

“Yeah! I was in the shower and walked out to grab some clothes but saw that you were awake and ran in here.”

“Do you walk around your house naked often?”

No. “Yeah, totally.”

“Uhh….”

“Just…..just go out and grab some breakfast,” I called, “I’ll be fully clothed when you get back.”

“Umm…..okay…..then.” A few moments passed and the front door opened then I heard it close.
Remember me for who I am, Not for who I was

*Laughs hysterically while chuckling darkly and smiling slightly*

I did see a few spelling errors that need fixing but nothing to major.
