Chapter 2

When the first rays of the sun crept into my room, I stirred. My eyes slowly opened; my room aglow with bursts of purple, yellow and orange light. Sitting up in bed, I yawned. Even thought I’d slept for hours, I still felt tired.

"Go back to sleep." My body says, "You need the sleep."

No I don't.

"Yes you do. Now lay back in bed."

No really, I’m fine. Besides, being a Hellwolf, this is normal.
I jumped out of bed and yawned again. I glanced at my bed and saw that it was smoking. Ashes littered the sheets, and my smoke alarm began to go off. I growled and blasted the alarm with fire.

"You know you shouldn't have done that."

Who cares?

"Fine, get in trouble. When we get locked up, I’ll blame you.

Okay, I don't care anyway.

I showered and dressed up. I put on a simple dark blue shirt, a black thermal over it and my favorite blue jeans that were torn and ripped up. I chuckled to myself, thinking of all the times I remembered wearing those blue jeans. Sighing I walked to the kitchen and had a simple breakfast. Once I was finished, I grabbed my bow and arrows and headed out to the woods. My stomach growled for some real food. My wolf teeth sank in my mouth and I growled. I wanted to hunt so much, I was desperate.

No, stop it! You can't go back to being this.
I growled at myself and stalked out of my house. I wandered around the woods for a while before picking up scents of easy prey. I began to change and I stalked near a young buck, grazing peacefully. Licking my lips, I slowly crept close on my paws and focused on my target. Time seemed to stop and I was ready to pounce. Suddenly, something caught the buck by surprise and it started to run away. I growled in frustration and began chasing after the deer. But before I got close enough to kill the buck, I watched as a pair of fangs sank into the poor deer's flank. The buck tried to run again, but it was bleeding too much. The animal fell onto its side and passed out. Trotting over to the carcass, I carefully gazed at the dead animal. Two small holes overflowed with blood on the deer's neck. I leaned over and sniffed the wound and then quickly backed away.

Of course. I sighed, it just had to be poisoned. I walked away from the dead prey, sad my breakfast was made inedible. I hadn't walked about five feet away from the animal when my ears pricked up. I froze and held my breath. My eyes scanned every area of the forest I could see, yet I saw nothing. But I knew something or someone was there.

”That was Vampire poison, so there must be one nearby.”

I know. That’s why I’m on high alert. I carefully set one paw in front of the other and slowly headed home. When I got back to my house, I still had an uneasy feeling. I felt like someone was watching me.

”If you feel that worried, then just go to the cliff.” My body urged.

I was planning to. And I’m not nervous. Before I knew it, my paws had taken me to my cliff. It was a beautiful sight; one could see for miles on end. A quiet waterfall stood close by and rumbled softly. I closed my eyes and calmed for a moment; the ambiance reminding me of warm spring days. But then my eyes flashed open and I could sense someone behind me. Tensing up, I turned around, bit by bit. A teenage boy, no more than 14 years old stood with his arms crossed in front of his chest. He wore black jeans and a blood red shirt. Dark wings were folded behind his back and his eyes gleamed red. A growl rumbled in my throat as I stared the Vampire boy down.

“Who are you and why are you here?” He demanded.

“You don’t need to know and cuz I can be here. Free land.” I answered.

“Land’s not free. So get off, it’s not yours.”

“I don’t give a fuck. I’m not moving.” The Vampire hissed at me and took a step forward.

“One last time. This land isn’t yours. So you get the hell out of here or else.”

“Or else.” I chuckled. “Wow, that’s a threat. Bite me, bat boy.” The Vampire suddenly lunged for me and caught me by surprise. His fangs sunk deep into my throat and I started choking. I rolled to my side and pinned him down. I swiped my claws across his chest and he hissed out in pain. I bit his shoulder and he howled. The Vampire boy pushed me off and struggled to get up. I shook my fur and saw drops of blood drip onto the grass from my neck. Even though I was injured, I growled fiercely at the Vampire. He took one look at me and scowled. He ran over to the cliff and jumped off. I watched as he changed into a bat and flew away.

Serves him right. He should’ve known not to fuck with me.

”But don’t you think you were a little rough? You did almost rip his shoulder out.”

Does it look like I care? He almost tore out my throat but do you see me complaining? No. I sighed and trudged back to my small house. On the way back, I found a river and washed out my blood soaked fur.

At least the neck wound is healing faster than I expected. I glanced at my reflection and saw that the cuts were closing quickly. I jogged to my home and jumped onto the roof. The sun was setting and the moon began to peak out of the clouds. I wanted to howl again, but the time didn’t feel right.

Guess I’ll just stand watch for tonight and see if bat boy brings any reinforcements. I set my head down and stared out into the open forest. After some time, the woods gradually became quiet. I sighed and closed my eyes, thankful for the peace and quiet.
Remember who you are. You are my son, the one true king. Remember!X)

pretty good story so far...Just a few things to point out...one when the 'body' is talking why not make it the consious talking instead? And when you mentioned that the wolf saw fangs sinking into the bucks flanks you said hat the wolf saw it but didn't see who the fangs belonged to? That kind of confused me....and one last detail...at the end you used the word 'cuz' and I don't think that is a proper English word...but besides all the nitpickiness I liked it. Maybe describe the character's emotions a little more so we can get attached to the character :) Keep up the good work!!!
Sometimes you've just got to accept the way things are and move on, but not us...

Hmmm... This is very interesting! I have never really been into werewolves at all, but this is good, very good! Congrats on being able to draw me in enough to actually read it too, cause normally with anything like this I would just put it down when I saw she was a werewolf, even if she is a different type. Your writer's voice is very good though. Creates an interesting and compelling read; you kept me going right to the end. I kind of like that her body talks to her.... interesting thing to think about. (sorry, i use the word intereting too much don't i?) I like how she is battling with her body when she has the urge to hunt. That was an excellent way to add conflict, so good job on that. Anyway, this was great! Keep writing, and excellent job!
