Username changes should really only be done if you are considering starting a new account just for the name. These folks tend to be unhappy if you want to change your username for fun. So if you're going to ask for a name change, be ready to stick with it for several months, preferably years.
Unfortunately, having spaces in one's username is no longer allowed! If you see folks with spaces, it's because they were around before the rule was enacted.

@TheSingingWonder - Despite this thread being 7 years old, it's still pretty much correct! Just PM a Global Moderator (anyone in dark green) with the username you want to change to, and they'll do it for you. Keep in mind you can only change your username once every six months, so be sure it's one you really want.
