I am a liar.
You can see it in these words.
They shape me.
They make me.
And all you can do is assume.
I am a statement,
boring and bland.
I am just... there.
There is no other reason,
no higher power,
no new character.
It is just me.
It's MY limp hair
MY devil eyes
MY sickly hands
that type these words.

They make these words,
shape them into make believe.
It's a place where I am safe.
Daddy's crazy eyes and Momma's shouts,
they won't reach me here.
I am the center of my world.
I rise up and take power.
Everyone hears what I say.
There are no tears
and no silence.
I grin and laugh here
because I am an idiot.
Only idiot believes his world won't come crashing down.

It did.
I was ignorant,
and because of this.
I let it tumble,
let it burn down.
The blocks crushed my fingers.
They sent wails from my mouth.
I cursed myself.
I was swept away in the magic.
Never again.

This is all I am.
I am a girl
whose logic has taken over.
My magic is gone.
All I have left is you,
but this isn't about you anymore.
I lived to please you.
I lived to see you smile.
It's impossible.
Behind that dark screen,
you can be anybody.
Please don't leave.
You can pretend to care,
you can just say it's alright,
I won't know what you mean.
No, not anymore.
This is for me.
The liar, the fool,
the child, the tool.
This is me.

I really hope this is a lot better than the first. Thanks for reviewing!

That was a very dramatic, self-loathing poem, you read a lot of those on this site, but of course everyone's is unique and special in it's own way. I was a bit long, and I liked that. It gave you room to expand on the topic, however, I didn't feel any strong emotion behind the words. Maybe if you described your pain with more detail, it would work better, but of course that is your choice. Other than that it was a well written poem and I could really relate to it. Nice job. :)
Oh, and, why did you decide to rhyme in the end? It really seemed like you were trying to rhyme instead of finishing your story. I mean it made sence, but kinda killed the vibe.
Still, very nice though

I like it! I usually write self-hating/suicidal (not that I am), sad poems too but none of mine compare to this! Great! :)
Remember me for who I am, Not for who I was
