Tell Me It's Okay

I don’t know how to put this.
It’s not easy to say.
But please just let me tell you,
That not everything’s okay.

No, it’s not at all alright,
And no, it isn’t fine.
There is nothing you can say
To set everything right.

Words are useless syllables
And letters that make sounds,
But one thing that they can’t do
Is make the world go round.

So tell me that it’s just fine,
And I will try my best
To wipe off the tears and say,
“Just as good as it gets.”

But you could never get it,
This pain that consumes me.
Yet still I keep on fighting,
That burning that dooms me.

So maybe it helps a bit,
Those same meaningless sounds
Spoken in the dead of night,
Some of my pain renounced.

Please, I’m begging, tell me now,
Words that I’ve been hearing,
Because, despite everything,
My heart’s started healing.

I love it. It expresses the intended emotions beautifully, and it feels very genuine.
It describes life, and how things work. (In a way. I will explain.)
I see this here when you say:
"Words are useless syllables
And letters that make sounds,"

This whole thing flows smoothy. It's got a natural rhythm to it.
My short moment of critiquing. XD

"No, it’s not at all alright,
And no, it isn’t fine. <------
There is nothing you can say
To set everything right." <------

<------- These two (where the arrows are) don't seem to rhyme that well. (But you can get away with it.) It just seems to stick out a tiny bit. A tiny bit. No worries.

I like it [: It shows emotions clearly and realistically. Maybe try rhyming a bit more with the ends of sentances. But other than that I can't find anything wrong. Keep writing!

I don't know what you're worried about, I think it's pretty rocking.
Any critique I might have had has alreday been said.
I just love the emotion in it all and I think lots of readers can easily relate to this poem. I'ts something we all go through at some point in our lives.
A writer is someone who finds writing more diffucult than everyone else.-Not quite sure who said this but it's kinda true don't you think.

This is a very good poem, and, as stated before, it does describe life very well. I will mention that you did stretch the rhyming at some points in the stanzas (which I believe was also pointed out), so what might make it better is if you used a set pattern, versus rhyming some words, and getting close to rhyming others, but not. Good job!

This is a really good poem. I think it's really good how other people can relate to it. The only other thing I have to say about it is that the second stanza has a different rhyming scheme than the rest. Other that that, it's brilliant. Sorry this isn't much or a review. Keep writing! :)

Hello! I saw a plea to review this, and so here I am! On Review Day, of course. But here I am!

Before I mention what came to mind, I must applaud you on your rhythm. A lot of these rhythmic poems always stumble in a couple places, but you did very well in holding it through the whole thing. Awesome job with that! It's more impressive than one thinks. :D

Now with the poem itself, I think it went on longer than it needed as if some stanzas were thrown in for the sake of lengthening the piece. Maybe an effort to better help the reader understand? The ones I'm looking at are:

Words are useless syllables
And letters that make sounds,
But one thing that they can’t do
Is make the world go round.

So maybe it helps a bit,
Those same meaningless sounds
Spoken in the dead of night,
Some of my pain renounced.

The second stanza doesn't really follow the ABAB rhyme scheme. I can tell it was difficult for you to think of something. xD Probably went to rhymezone.com in an effort to plug something in. Anyway, both of these stanzas weren't really needed at all.

Aside from that, I don't really see the point behind the poem. I mean, it's clear that the speaker wants to be told things are okay 'cause life just seems to suck right now for them. But the poem doesn't really build off of just that. I explained the poem in just one sentence here, and that's all the poem really did. That and end with a desperate plea for reassurance. Basically, try throwing in some imagery? More unique stanzas, I think. Metaphors that would tie in well with the piece. Right now, it seems flat to me and just a simple statement. It could definitely turn into something beautiful with the right images/set-up. Remember all those poetic devices you learn in school. It's amazing how awesome they are in writing poetry.

But honestly, I like the idea of the poem. I hope you're able to work something else with this to make it more appealing and interesting to the reader. I think it has potential!

Keep writing!

Hey there again! Here I am for another review for you!

May I say that you are very good with words and are able to write poems very well. It's like you know the exact amount of words you need to make an image, and you use them to their full effect.

Again, I really enojoyed this poem so forgive me for just praising you this entire review. :D

The flow was well done once again and the images you convey with the little amount of words you had to work with were rich and vibrant and easy to see. Way to go!

I really liked it! It flowed and the feelings came across well.
That burning that dooms me.
This line didn't sound quite right to me, I think you need to word it differently. The repitition of the word "that" made it sound a bit odd so just reword that perhaps. Otherwise great job! xXx

Nice job I really enjoyed this haha. Good luck and I hope to read more soon!! I already took a look at the prologue and reviewed so I hope that helps haha. I couldn't find anything wrong with it other than I can't understand the point? It gives good advice yes, but why was it written? Just a bit lost on that and I don't mean to sound mean I really liked it ^^ And like Jazzy pointed out rephrase that line if there is two "that" then one is most definitely not need as says my English teacher who made me learn it XD. Anyways this was beautiful and I really liked it. It has great potential and I hope to see you improve. I hope this helps and keep up the good work. I can't wait for more and Happy Writing!!! Hope this helps and may you receive many helpful reviews!!! Happy Writing.
