Newbie

Just wanted to say that I'm new here and only 13 years old. If I ever post something I welcome any and all criticism, advice and help( don't sugarcoat it). Also alot of the times I draw inspiration for my ideas from music, friends, games, family and more. Anyone got any good sources?

Anyway, welcome to the site! Any trouble navigating, I can help, and feel free to ask any questions you may have. Now tell us a little about yourself. What do you write? Novels, short stories, poetry, lyrics, scripts, or anything else? What genres? Any interests or hobbies?

As for inspiration source suggestions, I just have a tendency to focus on my surroundings and describe everything I focus on, if only a pencil or streetlight, and create the imagery in my head. I can't always use music because I write lyrics, so that's what I do.

I would say that sugarcoating, and trying not to be overwhelmingly negative are different things, but not everyone sees that so requests of this kind can be a double edged sword. I recommend extreme care be taken in in saying things of that nature.

In response to everything that you people have told me I would consider myself to write several different topics*. Sometimes I'll write something that's sort of philosophical and I've made an attempt to write sci-fi, fantasy and I'm now working on a series that I'm sure will make it through. I'll try and post a sort of guide sometime Saturday or Sunday. It'll be called Chapter 1:Origins and the series I'm thinking about naming The Cataclysm Chronicles or The ArchMage Saga(comment what you think about the name). I would like to give a thanks for all the welcomings too. I've been looking for a place like this for about the past year and a half, when I got commited to writing. I look forward to what you all have to say about my works and if you guys would like I could post some of my "philosophical" works.

*Usually the topics I work on are heavily impacted by my mood,memories and/or current source of inspiration.

Scratch what I said earlier, I might have the first chapter posted here by Friday. If someone could tell me how I post it as a novel that would be great.

It's a pretty crazy site but you know, it's one of the best. If you need any help or you're slightly confused just pop a note on my profile, by clicking on my name, and I'll do my best to help you out! I was new here too not so long ago and sometimes it takes a while to get to know your way around here.
So some pointers that'll help you get started;
- Following peoplen is like adding them as your friends.
- When you make a review on stories or poetry or anything you earn points.
-Points is like money.
-You use points to post your on work, when you run out of points~You can't post anymore until you earn some more.
- You can post storeis,poetry,art,scripts,lyrics,articles,movie reviews and so much more here! Post anything you're good at-video's of you singing or anything really! YWS is a great site in that way.
- You can sedn private messages to people by pressing PM ME.
- Entering contests are a good way of getting to know people.

So that's the main stuff really.
