A canticle (from the Latin canticulum, a diminutive of canticum, song) is a hymn (strictly excluding the Psalms) taken from the Bible. The term is often expanded to include ancient non-biblical hymns such as the Te Deum and certain psalms used liturgically.
A Canticle is a chant, hymn or song, especially a nonmetrical one, with words from a biblical text.
A canticle is like a hymn/song that praises God for a gift or something like that. Well, I should type down my poem now. :b
Magnificat of My Angelic Friend
My soul is thankful because God has lifted the burden on my shoulders and brought me happiness again
My spirit was down, but now is blissful
For He was looked at me with pity and sent me “my angel”
The Almighty had heard my prayers and answered them with an angel sent from heaven
With a dark cloud above my head, I had given up hope
I prayed through night and day for happiness, yet it still hadn’t come
Then, God heard my cry and sent an angel
The angel gave me the power to be glad and I am here, living in glory
Now, I am left with an angel by my side
The promise He made to bring us a savior has happened twice, once for everyone and once for myself
Hope you like it. If you can tell, this is about a "special someone" that is in my life. Well, hope you like it!
