Trees (written 4/6/2011, poem #2)

With sparkling leaves,
as ancient as dinosaurs,
the tree always stands.

Spring! (written 4/7/2011 #3)

Spring is upon us,
I have caught a bad case,
of spring fever.

The little flowers blooming,
with petals as beautiful as lace,
giving the ground lots of color.

The leaves are coming,
green and blowing,
in the cold spring wind.

All the little birds coming back from the south,
because it's stopped snowing,
and their chirps fill our ears with happiness.

Homework- (#4, 4/9/2011)

Homework isn't fun,
It is a waste of my time,
I could be writing.

Florida (#5, 4/10/2011)

I love Florida,
my favorite place,
best vacation ever.

I love Florida,
puts a smile on my face,
with my friends and family.

I love Florida,
the humid air,
and warm water.

I love Florida,
can have fun without a care,
until it's time to leave.

Softball is coming,
Softball season starts today,
If it stops raining.

Poetry (poem #7, 4/12/2011)

I love poetry,
but I can't seem to find,
anything good to right about.

National Poetry Month is here,
and I think I'm falling behind,
in this poetry challenge.

Sometimes I completely,
run out of topics to write about,
I have a bad case of writer's block.

These poems are pretty bad,
I'm gathering lots of doubt,
am I a failure?

Cats (#8, 4/13/2011)

I adore my cat,
he sleeps on the couch all day,
cats are so boring.

Sunburn (#9, 4/17/2011)

Sunburns hurt my skin,
I look like a red lobster,
Sunscreen doesn't work.

Banana Tree (#10, 4/19/2011)

My neighbor named Fred,
that man enjoys watering,
his banana tree.

April Vacation (#11, 4/20/2011)

I love vacation,
we don't have school,
for a whole week.

I went to Florida,
the water is cool,
and the air is hot.

It's so beautiful here,
but unfortunately I have to,
pack my bag and leave.

Airplanes (#12, 4/22/2011)

Riding an airplane,
I am flying back to Maine,
I am reluctant.

Just realized I'm disqualified because I won't make the requirement of 20 poems. Ohh well, I'll finish it anyway.

I hate computers,
they never cooperate,
they are mean to me.
