So my very dear friend Kyle is graduating from high school this year. In about two months, actually. I know a lot of people are going to be giving him graduation presents, and I wanted to give him one too. My present is going to be special, though. A collection of about ten poems. I am going to write about twenty or thirty poems, but I need help picking the best ones. I will be adding to this continually until I get the best ones. So, here are the first few:

Goodbye and Good Riddance:
Spoiler
Goodbye
To tight hallways
Dress codes
Requirements
The easy way out
Test makeups
Short walks
From class to class
Pointless drama
Pennsylvannia
And Lancaster
Goodbye
To sesquehanna hikes
Gyms class
And lockers
Lunch B
Your teachers
The pledge to the flag
Morning anouncements
Useless classes
Manheim Township
And high school
Hello
UW

My Goodbye:
Spoiler
Wave goodbye to these crowded halls
Because now your next adventure calls
You begin to end your high school time
Starting to walk on the next line
A late fresh start is coming quick
But if you find yourself begin to slip
Remember all the good times you've had
Enjoy the good, learn from the bad

It's a crazy world out there
But you've got all your friends who care
Don't forget when you set out
You've never had a reason to dout
And now in everything you do
I wish all the best luck to you

Last Advice:
Spoiler
17 years and many days
Just the smallest steps on the way
To the bigger place you're going now
The golden path you're walking down
There may be long and chilling nights
Just don't ever loose your sight

Faces fade and memories go
As you add to things you know
But don't ever forget the ones you love
As you're searching for the one
And if it's not to much to say
If you find yourself in the rain
All the best of luck to you
In every single thing you do

Good Luck and Farewell
Spoiler
The world will only get bigger
And you'll only get smaller
Good luck out there
In a place where your catastrophe
Is the next man's entertainment
And in the place where the biggest things
Are actually so very small
Good luck to you

When life starts to have a purpose
And you realize it means nothing at all
Where it's suddenly a long way to the next end
The best of luck to you
When old memories start to face
Just don't forget this
Somedays the world will feel so big
And you just might feel small
Remember not to loose your focus
Only the best of luck to you

Goodbye and Goodluck:
Spoiler
Goodbye and good luck
You're about to find out
How quickly life can change
The second you cross that border
Out of this state
You're moving foward
Driving towards your future
Hit the road and have fun
And when you arrive
At your new home
Make sure you don't go crazy
Even I know freedom
Can make you high
Tell the people in Whyoming
That I said hey
And don't drink too often
If you can help it
And the last thing I'll tell you
Before you get in that car
Is goodbye and good luck
In this big, crazy world

Building a Future
Spoiler
Angles and lines
Will begin to define
Your future
And isn't it great
You're at Whyoming state
You're preparing
For buildings and towers
That will rise bythe hour
You map
A future of promise
Where time runs right by us
You build

Stand Out:
Spoiler
One of 13,476
Yet I know you'll stand out
In the crowd
Shine like the sun
In this brand new town
The city is your castle
The college is your throne
Ride up in your chariot
A small light blue turtle
Look out on your kingdom
Be pleased to be here
The king takes his castle by storm
Love is beautiful, but what would love be without life?

Hello! Ktg here to review.
First, I'd like to say that I think this is a wonderful idea you have here. I'm sure your friend would love any of these poems. Personally, my favorite three were actually the top three. They were a great collection and I like the variety. I'll definitely check back often!
Hope this helped at least a little!

Hi Kaywiia! I love this idea! It's so encouraging, and I'm sure your friend will love these. My favorites are "Building a Future" and "My Goodbye". I guess the only thing that I want to point out is your spelling of "Whyoming". Did you spell it this way for a reason? Because the proper spelling is Wyoming.

I wish you and your friend luck!

A person is a fool to become a writer. His only compensation is absolute freedom. He has no master except his own soul, and that, I am sure, is why he does it.
