I really hope that this whole situation turns around, because this site is my entire life and I can't stand it when my friends go through rough patches like this, much less you guys, cause you're like my family at this point. Part of me wishes they could just get along and everything could go back to the way things were, and part of me dislikes them, I mean, I don't get how you can treat this place, a place that welcomes us all and everyone is great and we have laughs together like no other site I've seen, so badly. It makes me lose respect for you. Anyway, I know this isn't the place to talk about this, since we're supposed to be respecting them, but I just have this one last thing to say: Don't do this. You're nice, cool people, can't you find another way to resolve this whole thing rather than leaving YWS? :(

Although, this place could be much better.

I mean, certain people do cause trouble, and certain systems have to be replaced every once in a while. YWS has undergone many changes before. Maybe what we're seeing now should be the greatest change of all: a change in leadership. Because honestly, site quality's gone down. Reviews are one liners now like 'Hi. I really liked this and that! <Insert tag> Live wild!'

Nate might be too busy with his real life to worry about YWS anymore... either that or he doesn't care.

Sorry for the mini-rant, it's just this whole mod thing is crazy. But I'm smart enough to understand cause and effect... and I think the cause might be Nate. Before you go defending him, please just *think* about how things really work around here. Mods wouldn't have problems for nothing, after all.

TNH, I don't want the blame to fall on Nate. He's done so much and there's some friction between us, yes. But in reality, there's just so much he can spend on YWs when there's Writer Feed project and other coding and tinkering.

Nate should not be blamed because he is the person who gave us YWS. You cannot tell a father that he has to stop being father. He is THE creator. That's disrespect.

People were saying the same thing when I joined YWS. If you look back through the forums, people have always been saying that the quality of reviews has gone down. It seems to be more a case that as YWS gets bigger, we get newer members who've never really had to look at anything critically before join and that's where we get our one-liners. At the same time older members tend to become less active because real life becomes busy and hectic. I think most people start off writing fairly poor reviews, because we're not entirely sure how to do something we've never done before.

I feel that, especially as regular members, we can't really say what the cause of these current arguments have been -- we don't have access to any of the staff forums and we can't really look at things in an unbiased objective when all we have is hearsay. It's unfair of us to try and lay blame on anyone considering that we don't have a full grasp of the situation.

But in any case, that wasn't the point of this thread. It was to let our dear mod squad, and big brother, (and all our goldies pumpkins of course), know how much we appreciate all of the hard work that they put in to keeping YWS running as smoothly as possible for us <3

And to add to little, as us once-newer members get better, we become better reviewers, taking the place of the members that leave. It's a cycle. There are never going to be enough amazing reviewers to satisfy everyone.

But again, that's not the point of this.

So thank you colored folks, because you've gotten us this far. We love and appreciate you, even if we don't say so all the time. <3

Thank you Junior Moderators, Moderators, Administrators and Retired Moderators of YWS for endeavouring to upkeep this site. Regardless of all the finger pointing and bickering going on between you guys, it doesn't diminish the fact that you're a vital part of YWS that us normal members should never overlook, and I really appreciate your efforts.
Please calm down. I don't want this wonderful site to implode.

Love,

Pumpkin! Outrageous!

Well, I suppose it shouldn't matter - I look fetching in it either way.

Henceforth, I shall be known as Pumpkin Jiggity, the jiggling juggling jangling jabberhut mass of a fruit no one likes and everyone is terrified of! I will be your second worst nightmare.
