Pablo speaks to me at night
ever at my window
whispering in the dark,
stories,
tales that cross seas and
skies
Oh the religion of the
words!
He calls.
I echo.
Poetry, poetry.
Like moonlight
his words seep in,
touching me here
and there
fuelling the dying flames
of inspiration
clearing the clouds that settled
in my eyes
oh the religion of words!
He calls.
I echo.

He loves to tell me secrets
of pasts regretted
and lives wasted
of art that floats
like air
unseen necessities.
“Poeta! Poeta!
Don't be afraid of sweetness”
he murmurs
then goes,
back to the pages
where his spirit
is written
back to
his religion of words,
the scriptures of a
poet.
I return to my pillow
of painted dreams
and another day is born.

Hi, it's me again! First, I'm really starting to like you. All of your poetry has this feel to it that I can't quite put my finger on. It's unique and I love it. Like I've said before, you are an amazing poet, keep it up. I couldn't really find anything that was wrong here. There were a few parts I didn't understand, but I think it was because my brain can't quite function all that well with poetry, but I'm in love with it anyway! Anywho, this deserves a 'like'--if only there were a 'love' button! Keep up the good work, and if you need anything else reviewed, just let me know, I'd be more than happy to take a look at it!

Hi again, Upile!

I've read some Pablo Neruda, too. I love his "Book of Questions". I think this was a nice tribute to him -- this is quite intense and personal, just like his work (from what I've gathered) is. I might prefer that other poem I read by you today to this one, but it doesn't mean I don't like this, because I do.

I like "unseen necessities" and "tales that cross seas and skies" -- they may not exactly be something I'd be awestruck about, but they're comely images that fit well in this poem.

I'm not sure if I like the exclamation

oh the religion of words!

especially when it's repeated twice. I guess it would do if it was there only once, but now it feels like a filler.

You seem like an interesting writer, and I'll be sure to read some more of your work. See you around!

Whoa! thats gotta be the longest poem I've seen so far.

It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.
