My first time posting art... Let's get it started with Jack:

Image

He's bald, by the way, not really light-haired, or something.

Yeah... I didn't scan these, I photographed them, and this one didn't turn out fantasticaly.

Then there's the Queen:

Image

She, on the other hand, is not bald. Just light haired... Probably the one I'm least proud of.

And the King:

Image

Finaly, she's known as the prettiest card in the deck... and the card of death.

So here she is, The Ace of Spades...

Image

Sexy, I know.

I was thinking about writing a story with card kingdoms... and, I was going to make the Aces in the story mysterious warlock people... The spade on her neck is meant to be a tatoo...

Keep in mind I drew all of these with two HB pencil, an eraser, and a napkin.

Originaly they weren't supposed to look related, but as I drew them I realized the Jack and Ace sort of look like they're the King and Queen's children...

With that being said, time for a family photo!

Image

Eh... Ace got cut off a bit... ah well, I tried :P

So, yeah... I'm new to this. I'd like to know if they're any good... and how I can improve.

Hello, I'm Jojo, and i shall be your reviewer for today.
These drawing are pretty cure, but really hard to see.

Image

I would suggest that you make the lines more definite and remember that drawing always start out as basic shapes.
Make sure that you sketch out the basics first- and make them proportional.
Then and only then can you jump into the nitty gritties of drawing.

Other than that, they're pretty good1

Keep Drawing!

Hey, nice work but per usual I do have issues with, if i didn't i wouldn't be reviewing. First thing i noticed was how hard it was to see your drawing properly, the color was very light. Don't be afraid of line, because right now it seems like you are. I also suggest you use more than one different type of pencil, or vary the tones and shades. Your pictures are very much two tonal and that does not give them the depth that is needed from them to be fantastic pieces of work.

Second you must work on proportion, this is very hard with faces. i suggest looking up tutorials, i heard they can be helpful, or just doing more practice. Your faces also have very similar features. Your eyes are little so simple, eyes consist of many elements also your pupils are drawn to small the be realistic.

but in general, a good solid piece of work! keep at it!

:O You've got quite a lot of likes for this, Tabz! Congrats!

Now. Before we get started. I am absolutely pathetic at art reviews, since I tend to be absolutely pathetic at art.

I know the other reviewers mentioned this, but the lighting is a little weird. It's kind of tough to see.

I'm going to assess each drawing, one by one, starting with...Jack. Is he okay with having no lips? Just kidding. But seriously, there's nothing there. A bit simplistic, no? Also, I think there's something wrong with his left eye. It's at a weird angle, and it looks like it's squinting a little as well. The beard is at an angle as well. And I think there could be a bit more shadow on his left side.

Queeny. Again, you've got an angle issue. Her whole face looks as if it was born from some surrealist mind. It seems like it's tilted to the left a little. This time it's even more prominent than it was in Jack's case. Her hair is a bit...stringy, too.

King. I think he's a bit embarrassed about his crown. The little poky things seem to be sticking out in every direction. And did he inherit his lip deprivation from Jack?

And the Ace. What an emo. At least she's got good hair.

See? That review completely failed. Oh well. Keep up the good work.

Hiya!

I like it! I have to agree with Kafka in that the Queen's hair does look a little stringy. Also, i think Ace's hair looks great! And really well done on the eyes, the shading was very good. Also, not sure if this is intended, but King looks so.. happy-go-lucky, dont you think? I'm not sure if that was what you were aiming for, it just looks strange on a King. And furthermore, Jack looks like he could use a bit more shading. He's very light, and his head isn't really defined enough to be clear.

Hope this helped!
