Hello My name's Shentel and I'm a only a very recent addition to the site. To say the least, I'm a little confused on how everything works. I've never really seen a site like this but it looked so fun to become a part of I knew I just had to in order to share my interests with others who love to write! If someone could help me out and be a guide maybe it'd really help me out a ton. I have many questions and hope to get a response. Maybe I will meet someone nice enough to let me in on how things go down around here. A message or anything would help. First of all how do you review another's work? I think I almost had it but then was completely unsure in the same. Oh well, maybe this "post" thing will help me. Thanks for reading Hope to hear from somebody soon!
Welcome to YWS! Really, any of us are willing to help you out. But I'll offer my personal services most definitely! If you have any question or concern about the site, you shouldn't hesitate at all to contact me. I'm more than willing to help you out. I want you to have the best experience you can have!
To review people's work, you'll find "Discover Works" at the top. Go ahead and click that, and you'll end up in all the forums in which people have posted their work! Feel free to enter any forum you want and comment on any work/thread that you feel you can say something about. Give some helpful advice, give your thoughts, and give some encouragement! 'Cause we're all here to help each other grow in our writing skills. Be careful that your reviews are more than just a few sentences. Otherwise your review counter on your profile won't go up! D:
What do you like to write? I'm not much of a poet, but I do write some fiction. I touched scripts a couple times too. Do you have other hobbies besides writing? Drawing or gaming? Maybe sports?
I can't wait to see you around more. Have fun! And remember, I'm open to anything you have to say.
Haha, believe me, I was just as confused as you are when I joined! I see Hut has already showed you how to review. I personally click on the button below Discover Works labeled All Recent Additions, but that's just a habit I've developed. I have found that experimentation is the best way to figure everything out. As you move along, everything becomes more and more familiar and easier to navigate. To submit a work, there's this little button on the top that says Submit. Click there, and then you'll get this screen asking what genre you're going to post. After you click on the genre, just write from there or copy/paste from a different location, and click submit. Pretty easy, but essential stuff. Don't hesitate to PM (Private Message) me if you have any questions. I'm excited to check out some more of your writing. Good luck!
