Let the truth be heard With a voice so loud Let the sound resound And proud listeners be Shout the truth out Let the world see We are Americans We are Free
"It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul."
Not bad. I like "let the sound resound," just the way there's a rhyme within the line. But I'd rethink the following line, "and proud listeners be." Technically it's a good line, but maybe add a period or something? I was confused, because without a period or even a line break - when I got to the end of it, I thought it went along with the next line, but of course it doesn't...
Excellent job! I also noticed the rhyme within the line, but was confused at the "and proud listeners be" area. My biggest suggestion is ADD PUNCTUATION. If you do that, it will help readers

"It is better to be present with ten men than absent with ten thousand."
I liked this poem I think it has a good meaning and message, and it makes me proud to be an American. We have a lot to be thankful for here in the U.S., and I think you conveyed that in your poem.
"If you were half as funny as you thought you were, my boy, you'd be twice as funny as you are."
This poem certainly expands a large bubble of pride within my heart. I, myself, have written a rather long poem about freedom. The pride I felt when writing that poem rebounds into me with this poem. I also enjoy how the patriotism is conveyed within such a short poem. Keep up the good work!
