NaNoEdMo?

I'm not sure if anyone's heard of this, but Nanoedmo's been around for (almost) as long as Nanowrimo. It stands for "National Novel Editing Month" — it's in March (i.e. two days from now) and the idea is basically to get in 50 hours of editing for your Nanowrimo novel. If you (like me) are obnoxiously lazy, it might be the push (shove? kick?) you need to polish up November's story. Like Nanowrimo, it has forums brimming with helpful people, genre lounges, and moral support.

Nanoedmo is (sort of) affiliated with Nanowrimo, but you don't necessarily have to edit your Nano novel; Nanoedmo is basically for any editing project you might have (novel-length), original fiction or fanfiction, that needs editing.

I have no novel to edit at the moment, but there's a group on writing.com called MarNoWriMo, which is basically NaNoWriMo, except it's in March. Soooo I'm doing that one. 50,000 words, I must be out of my mind.

I'm interested in NaNoEdMo... I've got THE BEARER sitting around waiting to be editted and I could sure use someone setting a fire under my lazy bum to get me going.

Nanoedmo started today. One hour down, 49 to go. I forgot how much fun this whole editing dealy was ...

*blinks* Um... maybe you should just have one standing by. I don't mind a little incentive, but I don't particularly think I'll work very well if I get too singed.

And call me a dork, I've signed up, but I don't know if there's something I'm supposed to be doing to tell them my current progress. Do you, Smaur?

Yup. They're supposed to have progress bars, but they're still working out the kinks, so they're not up yet. To quote Matthew Nelson (the head founder dude guy):

Yay! Editor dorks unite! *grins* Thanks. I need to learn to go through things more carefully and find these things for myself.

*grins* I've signed up... and I haven't found any time for editing yet... watch me squeeze all 50 hours into the the last week and a half... lol. I procrastinate far too much.

But I'll do it! I almost always get the job done...

*laughs* yes... almost. I can't say always... I wish I could... *sighs* I think I have about a 85% success rate these days...

But I've done an hour so far today... and I have some more time to waste, so I'm gonna keep editing...
