Katherine
I look up when Alkaline whinnies a greeting to see both Trojin and Daemond nearing with speed.

"How are you both faring?" I ask then kindly, my hair whipping in my face as Iook at them both.

I notice Daemond is sitting straighter in his saddle, "Daemond, this is Alkaline. She was recently found wandering around Hades territory." I inform him, and I can hear the horses conversing enthusiasticly.

Daemond is smiling but I doubt he heard my words.

"Daemond?" I look at him carefully from where he was at my side.

He blinks, "Hmm? Oh Trojin already mentioned most of that." he tells me caly and I raise an eyebrow at him.

((Hey, Amf. I mention at least 3 other Hades kids in one of my previous posts.... So, she's not as alone as you think. She just doesn't get on well with others.))

Cassandra [Hades] - Hades Cabin:

Chase was kind of...sweet. But way too young for me. I sighed, scraping the last of the....glow-in-the-dark crazy string off the walls and dumped it into the bin. Finally, it was somewhat clean. I glanced towards the doorway, hoping my little half-brother and my two half-sisters would walk through it...but nooo. Hades had decided to keep them down in the Underworld. How lovely.

I shook my head and left the cabin, deciding it was time to head off towards the dining area. And of course, I'd be alone at the Hades table again. I rubbed a hand over my face. Just wonderful. "Come on, Dad," I muttered. "Send me a sign or something..." Frowning, I waited for a few minutes...and nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. Yeah, wonderful dad Hades was. "Thanks a lot, Dad." Sarcasm was heavy im my voice.

Fine. If Hades wasn't going to talk to me, then it looked like I really was on my own....or this was some kind of test. I mean, honestly. I was meant to die last year...but I did't. I was still alive and back at camp. I snorted. Yeah, that didn't tell me much.

Suddenly, I bumped into someone and looked up, startled. For a few moment we stared at each other until I muttered a Sorry and made to walk away. "Hey," he said, grabbing my arm.

It's dieing! *Scrabbles to pick up pieces. I'm over exagerating, I know.

~Daemond~

"Daemond?" Katherine asks.

"Hmm? Oh, Trojin already told me most of that."

She raises and eyebrow and I smile to myself. Trojin whinies.

"You can talk to him?"

"Yeah." I was rather proud of myself. I was talking to a horse. It was a true miracle. "That's a good thing right?"

"I-"

Katherine's interrupted by the dinner bell. She sighs, motioning Alkaline nearer to the ground. I hesitate to follow her, wondering if I should be the bad boy who makes us stay a little longer, but I was really starting to get airsick. So I follow, landing with a skid on the ground next to Katherine, who giggles at our clutzyness.

"Thanks a lot buddy." I mutter.

Hey, you're a lot heavier than Katherine!! lay off the twinkies and maybe we will land better.

I shake my head, lifting the saddle off of Trojin and putting it away.

"Go play with your girlfriend now." I say, shooing him a long.

He huffs, but moves into the stall next to Akaline. I smirk, feeling totally right. I look over to see Katherine standing beside me and Ani walking in front of us. She turns back and smiles, walking back to us.

"What was it that you were about to say?"

"I was-"

Ani reaches us with a wave. " How was the air?"

Katherine huffs, tired of being interrupted. I laugh slightly.

"Fine, thanks. I didn't die. I talked to horse." I shrug. " 'Ya know."
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Haha, yeah, but we haven't even done the chariot races yet! I'm probably not going to be able to post for the rest of today and the first half of the day tomorrow. If you want to bring in Chase or Aetos, that's fine with me! :)

I most likely won't be able to post for about a week or so. You know, vacation, being away from home, having the school rip our computers away and tossing them into the deepest, darkest part of the underworld. When I get my computer back I can post.

Katherine

With a sigh, I turned around and began to move ahead of them.

They could chat if they wanted, I wasn't going to try and stop them. Ok, maybe this is my irritation talking but seriously! How can anyone stand being interrupted every five seconds?

I shrug to myself before realizing I must look at least a little unstable, I'm talking to myself in my head!?

I try and unhitch my thoughts and look around me, the sun was still shinning brightly in the sky but it was hanging a bit lower now as the day wore on. I felt great after all the things we'd done.

Maybe, I'd take Trojin out myself later tonight while no one knows.

I'm capable of escaping the harpies and their little traps.

The water to my left glistens and sparkles, making me wish that Poseidon could maybe spend a little more time with his children.

I mean, I've seen all the kids at the orphanage get foster homes and stay there with a family that loves them but me?

Ha! A family that could love a child who makes pipes explode and drown people when they don't expect it?

A loving family can easily turn into the worst most hateful of them all.

I unconsciously reached up and brushed away the tears that had made their ways down my face. Gods, I hated crying.

When I heard foosteps behind me, I looked up.

Daemond was jogging to catch up to me and I straightened a bit before turning my head.

He paused when he met my eyes and slowed his jogging to walk beside me. He reached up and brushed a tear from my cheek.

"Katherine." the way he said my voice made me stop and turn to him. "What's wrong?" he asked me, with concern so genuine that I caught my breath.

"Nothing, Daemond." I tell him, "I'm fine." but I can feel the tears that fall from my face deny me the priviledge of the lie.

I hate feelings at the moment.

I swallow and look him in the eyes, knowing full well that he doesn't believe the fake words that came from my mouth.

"You don't have to lie." he doesn't say my name this time, and I realize how badly I wanted to hear it come from his mouth.

What am I thinking? It can't possibly be true that he feels anything towards me! I saw him the other day, leaning towards that girl Alex. He wasn't doing that to me, but then again.

My mind instantly rewinds, taking me to the place where he'd been about to kiss me - or so it had seemed.

I swallowed thickly, and turned my head away from him. "Where'd Ani go?" I asked him.

Daemond noticed the change of subject but he answered anyways, "She told me to tell you to meet up with her at the cabin later." he murmured before cupping my chin in his large palm and turning my head to face him.

"Katherine. Please, tell me what's wrong?" I blinked, trying vainly to push back the tears before answering.

"Daemond, do you know what it feels like to be completely alone?" I whisper, and I made no move to stop the tears.
To fly away on gossamer wings, sheer as night's reflective glow, I would could I cradle child hecate to my breast.

~Daemond~

I feel Katherine's wet tears on my palm and feel my heart break slowly, like it was ripping apart. Her life must suck. It must be even worse than mine, maybe because nobody had ever cared for me. Katherine must have had people who cared and when they were ripped away... I needed to know what's wrong with her. I needed to help her. It hurt me to see her like this- weak, defenseless, and broken. It wasn't her.

"Katherine. Please, tell me what's wrong?" I ask.

She blinks, and the tears move quickly down her cheeks.

"Do you know what it's like to be completely alone?" she whispers.

She looked so fragile at that moment I almost said yes. I stop myself before I can do anything foolish and think. Do I know what it's like to be alone? My mother caring about me but never really doing anything about it. A father who never bothers say hello to me, although I see him everyday. A sibling who all I seem to know about him is his name and gatorade obsession. A crush who never seemed to notice me, although I'd liked her for years.

"Yes, Katherine. I do know."

She looks up at me, her gray-blue eyes brimming with tears. My hand reaches up to brush one away before I can stop myself. I see a bit of hope in her eyes and a bit of something else in there to... something dangerously beautiful. Stop. I wasn't going to do this to her or myself.

"You do?"

I sigh, glad to get away from my thoughts. In the back of my head I hear the lights out cry but I don't mind.

"Yeah. You're not the only one who feels alone in this camp, don't worry."

Something that looks like a smile appears across her tear struck face.

"Including you?"

"Including me."

She takes a deep breathe, like she's trying to suck her tears back up. It doesn't work, obviously.

"Thank you. Sometimes, it's just so hard..."

The tears start falling again and she wipes her arm across her face in a vain attempt to wipe the tears away. I catch her hand on the way down, feeling my mouth open. This can't be good.

"Stop. You don't have to be ashamed of crying."

She nods and we stand in a peaceful silence, my hand rubbing her smaller one. She looks down at our hand and I see her cheeks redden under her mascara and tear streaked cheeks. I move her face toward me with my other hand.

"You can tell me anything." I tell her in a soft, gentle voice. "I promise I'll understand." She bites her lip and I feel my hand begin to stroke her cheek. "I'll do anything I can to help."

It was true. This was the girl who had helped me learn to love this camp again. I would do anything to help her get rid of whatever feeling she needed to get rid of I would help her. She looks at me again, and I see a bit of uncertainy spread across her face.

"You don't have to help me."

"But I want to."

Her mouth opens slightly and then slams shut again. Small tears still stream down her face, turning it a flushed pink. Her eyes spalt out the message to me, as clearly as if she had said it out loud. You can kiss me. No. It was only my vivid imagination, asking for trouble. Wasn't it? I draw Katherine in closer, dropping my hand from her chin and swinging it around her back. "You can cry if you need to."
She takes a heaving, shuttery breath and I feel a small tear across her. I wonder briefly if I was the cause for that tear. For all this confusion. She looks back up at me, her grey-blue eyes shining. I loved those eyes. They were amazing, like the sky and the ocean mixed together. I then notice that we are barely feet away from the grape field. My enviroment.

"Thank you." she whispered," I...I was a foster child. Skipped around from home to home. I never knew my mother and my sister-" a shutter goes through her body," Dead at the hands of a monster. I have no one."

I feel my body go rigid. She did have such a horrible past- one not even I could compare to.

"You have me."

It was true. No matter what happened she would always have me. Even when I did something stupid. She looks up, hope shining in her wet eyes. It was then I notice how well she fit it my arms, how close she and I really were- I could feel the heat radiating off her. She seems to notice it to and we look at each other awkwardly yet still not breaking apart. Her cheeks still held a sweet rosy glow and I remember that look I saw in her eyes. Kiss me. The way she felt in my arms was just so right- but it was all so wrong. I reach up into her hair and pull it from it's pony tail. She watches me as I run my hand through the tangles in her hair. Alex would never let me hold her like this. Alex never even knew, and if she did she never cared. Alex would never fight me with a sword and then splash me with a wave of water. Even as I thought about it, Alex's sweet smile still lingered in the back of my mind. I look back at Katherine as she hesitantly reaches her hand up into my curly hair and runs her hand through it. I smile, all of my hesitantion fading away. I was going to regret this tommorow. Yet I couldn't help myself, her looking all amazing and sweet and looking at me with those eyes.

"May I?" I ask, my voice a quiet whisper.

She doesn't answer me, so I take it as a yes. I lean down and gently touch my lips to hers. Her body is stiff in my arms, but she relaxes and begins to kiss me back. I tangle my hand in her hair and her hand moves to my back. We break apart after a few seconds, looking at each other in silent shock.

" I-I... I have to go!" Katherine blurts, running in the direction of the Posiedon cabin, sending me a look over her shoulder.

I walk slowly in the direction of the Dioynsus cabin, still feeling her lips on mine. I was right. Tomorrow would be awkward but I did the right thing... I think.

Whoever wants to can write the first post for tommorow! Grab n' go breakfast for those who have chariot's to work on and for those who don't it's a regular breakfast.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Stunned silence.... O.O I love itt ! They are soo right for each other in my eyes .. I dunno 'bout you Crafty.
I just hope that Katherine sees it that way too.

Katherine

I raced off to my cabin, shaking from both confusion and cold.

He'd kissed me, but I wasn't sure if it was for the right reason. It had felt right, so right, to be in his arms; my lips on his.

Daemond made me feel whole, like I wasn't completely alone in this world where I was hunted like a mouse by a cat. Like he said, I'd always have him.

As if called by the memory I can feel a small smile on my lips, I would have him there for me.

I scramble up the stairs and push open the cabin door, smelling the sweetness of the salt water fountain. I walked over to my bunk and sank onto the matress with a small sigh.

Had I done the right thing to kiss him back? Would he regret ever doing it in the morning? Would he stop speaking to me? These thoughts raced through my mind and I cringed at the thought that he would regret having done anything.

It hadn't been that bad for him, had it?

A hand on my shoulder made me shriek and stand up. When I looked up to the top bunk it was Ani smirking down at me.

She had a smile of knowing on her face and I nearly thought she knew about us - I mean Daemond and me - or whatever we were.

"How'd it go?" she asks me innocently and I frown.

"I- I don't know." I tell her honestly.

I can still feel the ache in my heart from when I'd confessed what had happened to me as a child.

I remembered everything, the blood, the screams, the terror...

I blinked to regain myself and looked her in the eyes, "I just want to go to sleep, 'kay?" I murmur quietly, still partially lost in my thoughts.

When Ani nodds I pull off my jeans and put on some shorts and leave on my tank top before sliding under the thin sheets on my bed.

My thoughts consisted of mainly questions; What would happen tomorrow? Would things be different?

I closed my eyes, listening to the pouring of the water before finally falling asleep.

My last mumbled question, that I unconsciously said out loud, was : Does Daemond love me?

---
Uh ohh.. wonder if Ani heard that? Dun dun dun dunn .. I need to pick a better song for them, eh Crafty?
To fly away on gossamer wings, sheer as night's reflective glow, I would could I cradle child hecate to my breast.

"Thank you"

I turned startled. Aura had gotten up from her spot on the floor and had joined me on the balcony. Her eyes widened as she saw the lake, and I blushed. Was she saying thank you for that? Or the words I had said earlier. "For what?" I asked. Then I noticed her hand on mine. All other senses of my body shut down, I was only aware of her touch.

"For...everything. You're right I can never forget what he did to me but, there's always time to forgive. Thank you for listening. Thank you for the lake. It's beautiful"

My cheeks redden slightly and I nod. "I'm glad to help."

The sun hits my face and we stand in silence. Aura seemed more happy and bubbly (if that were possible) as if a great weight had been lifted off her shoulders. I look down at our hands. It wasn't the frantic grab of momentum that it was before, it was intended. Aura looked at our hands to.

" Anyway, the Nascar driver who my dad made me date? He wasn't that old. He was rather cute, honestly." Aura said. Then I felt my entire being fall. My chest is a collapsing cavern; my heart falling under it's rocks. So she was into someone; a cute race-car driver who she already had a date with . "But I think you're more my type." For a moment my mind is blank, and all I hear is static, then I realize what she just said.

I try to reply, but all I can do is stare at her. She laughs; a sound more beautiful than the Siren's song. She flashes me a smile and asks "So how about you show me more of Argos?"

"As you wish" I smile. The next hour is probably as close to perfect as my life was gonna get. I gave us each a pair of wings; mine a deep amethyst and Auras a radiant auburn. We soared first to the north, gliding through the majestic snowcapped peaks. Aura; still learning how to fly crashed into one of said peaks; and found to her immense surprise that it tasted sweet. Next we flew over the deep purple seas; where Aura stared in shock as giant stingray's rose from the depths and joined us in our flight. She looked at me in awe and I shrugged. She laughed and cautiously stroked the side of one of the sting rays. We finally reached the Southern Amethyst City, which glittered in the sun. We sailed around the tall crystal towers and raced through the cobblestone streets. We chanced upon a giant frog and an imp in the waltz and Aura raised an eyebrow at me.

Don't ask I mouthed with a playful smile. She seemed to be satisfied with that and then took off into the sky; pushing upwards with long powerful strokes. I caught up with her quickly, and for a moment we were suspended in midair. We hung there in zero gravity; her long auburn hair concealing her face as it splayed everywhere as if she was underwater. A second pasted, then another. I was about to let us down when all of a sudden BANG!!

The toll of a bell ripped across the landscape; tossing Aura and I aside like we were plastic bags. My chest constricted as terror of falling overwhelmed my senses. Aura was screaming. I got a glimpse of her in the tumbling landscape.

'Fergus! Wake me up!!" she shrieked as she stared at the rapidly approaching ground. I breathed deeply and focused hard. Then it was darkness. Cliffhanger! ().o

Tuesday Morning~ Aura

The next thing I knew was a bright, blinding light was gleaming in my eyes and designer perfum wafted around me. The Aphrodite Cabin. Dissapointment wallows through me. The last few hours with Fergus in Argos had been heavenly. I'd never been in such a magical place. No one there to judge. Just me, the sun, and the boy who made it all possible- Fergus, the son of Morpheus. I'd never eaten a sweet mountin, or embraced my inner Aphrodite in such a way... Then it had all ended in a cool, black, and harsh wave. I feel bitter as I think of the wave that had shook away my dreamland. I never thought anything like that could happen in such a beautiful place. I feel something cool on my arm and I shake it away.

"Aura?" I hear a familiar whisper in my ear.

"Fergus?"

My eyes open and I stare into the face of the son of Morpheus. He sighs with relief.

"Thank Gods your awake. I was so worried."

I push myself up, every part of me numb.

"Wha-Wha happened?"

His face darkens and he plays with the ties on his sweatshirt.

"I don't know. It's never happened before."

"Oh."I look down at myself, slightly disgusted that I still had my clothes from yesterday on. " I don't think I've thanked you for taking me to Argos yet."

"You don't have to." He blushes." The pleasure was all mine."

Aw. That was so sweet of him. I look at the clock. 5:20. To early to be up, but to late to go back to sleep.

"Why don't you meet me outside in say..." I bite my lip.

"Take your time."

"Thanks."

He rushes out, not glancing at my sleeping cabin mates. I quickly change in to a skirt and pretty pink tank top, doing my make-up. Never happened before? The darkness still swirled around in my brain, looming in the background of all the good memories. Was I the one who caused all this? Was I the reason for that black cloud. Did Morpheus send that cloud to punish his son for showing another soul Argos? I couldn't live with myself if that was true. I went out to meet Fergus with a smile plastered on my face, trying to ignore that black cloud in the back ground and the way my arm throbbed... Fergus is out waiting for me, a small smile on his face, like he is in a dream. I know the feeling. His mile widens when he see's me.

"Hey. Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah...thanks." I pause, bluttering out the question before I can leave the guts to." Fergus, do you think the dreams can transfer to reality?"
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Tuesday Morning~ Daemond

I look up at the ceiling of the Dioynsus cabin, watching as the vines swirl around the cieling. Did last night really happen? Had I really kissed Katherine and had she really kissed me back? Did it truly feel the way I remember it, oh so right in such a wrong way? Probably. I push myself off the top bunk, less than careful to wake my siblings. I rush through my everyday rountines, not really bothering to be quiete. I get out the door in ten minutes flat. I look around the camp, feeling the cool breeze on my arms. There are the usual kids out. Apollo: up with the sun. My eye catches on Alex's hair and I feel my heart swell up with something. Pain, love, maybe even regret. Zeus: messing with lightning. A group of Posiedon girls, in a huddle of blue. One of them raises her hand in a shy wave. Katherine. I give her a big smile, not sure what I was feeling. She says something to her group they all nodd and I see a small smile appear over Ani's face. Uh-Oh. Katherine walks over to me, more of a jog even.

"Hi."

Her voice sounds uncertain, but she looks at me with a sweet smile. My mind flashes back to last night, how closely I held her, how her lips fit into mine. How I thought that we both might regret it today. I look at her, her pretty eyes staring directly into mine and I can't muster any regret. Dang, my soul wasn't making this any easier was it?

"Hey. Are you ready?"

"For what?" Confusion blinks in her eyes and some uneasieness passes between us. "For the chariot race? We need to work on our chariot."

"Oh, yeah right. Sorry.'

I nodd, not really minding. We stand in a moment of silence, and I wonder what she's thinking of.

"Do you have any ideas? For the chariot, I mean."

I had a few ideas of my own but, hey, lady's first.
