Love: A Cycle

With love lost I move forward and look back.
I shed no tears as my heart is crushed and healed.

This last love is the last and the first.
It is my death and rebirth as I am born anew
cursed to suffer once more.

Then from my ashes I rise again like a phoenix.

Love is a cycle.
Painful.
Then lovely.
Then horrid again.

That is love.
That is life.

*Not this is not an original poem by me. A friend of mine wanted me to post this. So if you hate it go easy, he's new to writing.

Not bad. Very simple, which is good for people like me who nothing about love (lol), but as a whole it is very brief.
It is a good poem, but - and I don’t mean to be critical at all - I would like to read a little more. I don’t know what anyone else feels, and you can bag me out for this and I’m sorry if I seem rough or offensive or whatever, but I think that there is room to expand in this poem. See what else you can talk about here in this poem.
Then from my ashes I rise again like a phoenix.

There’s a lot you can express/talk about here.

In all, simple, tidy, a good start. But it would be nice to see more.
[Once again, I sincerely apologies if I have upset anyone.]

Short, simple and very true. Well done for someone new to writing. Very thoughtful.
I like this poem, it manages to pack so much meaning into so few words. I do think it needs a better flow (as it doesn't seem to have much flow) unless it was meant to be like that. I understand some poems are done one way on purpose to make the reader feel a certain way.
A very good poem. Simplistic and meaningful. Exactly what I felt like reading right now.
I don't have anything else in need of critiquing. This was well done, I love it. :)
I dream by day.

I will tell him that. I think this was his fourth poem, but he wanted me to post it. I'm sure he'll appreciate the comments.

I like this. I like how you compared the cycle of falling in and out of love to being reborn. It's a very simple poem, and you didn't need to use any dramatic emotion to get your point across. I think you could use more effective words than "lovely" and "horrid" though, something more descriptive. I like it, though. Good job!
Matt.

I liked this poem. It was short and simple, which I like. Great idea about how you die and be reborn in love. But what I didn't like, just like Matt, was your word choice. Some of the words could easily be made better like lovely. But other than that minor problem, this is a great poem. Your reviewing friend,

Tyler.
