The Darkness of Happiness

Happiness,
what is it to you?

A silly little crush?
That feeling that you get
when you know your loved?

What makes you smile?
What makes your gut tie in knots?

A hand to fondle you,
or maybe lips
to lay their love upon yours.

Happiness
is so hard to describe.

Me, you ask?
What brings me "happiness"?

Happiness comes
only in sorrow.

The only thing that I can obtain.
I thrive in, role in it.

I shower in the pain
and lies.

I learned how to cope
I taught myself to enjoy the mysery.

It's crazy, almost manical
I know,
but I'm not crazy.

I live for the blade
for the looks I get
when people see my scars.

I thrive in their disgust.
It humors me almost,
but not quite.

I look for the relationships,
that end in tears.

The tears that leak like blood
down my face.

Black blood full of darkness.
Crazy? No. I'm not crazy.

I've learned that life
is full of pain.

Can you deal?
Can you find happiness
behind the pain?

I did.

(This is just something to make y'all think. I had a weird though and I don't know if it came out quite right, but it seems kinda weird. I feel weird writing it haha. Oh well, comments would be nice!)

My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.

I've felt like that before, it was kind of morbid. Not bad though, just kinda sad. I could feel some anger though. What exactly made you write it?
In the end, love always wins.

I was just thinking of all the people that do stuff to deal with pain but they do it to be seen. It just gave me the idea to write this.

I liked this, it gave some good imagery.
The detailing on it was well placed and the structure flowed with it to give a true feeling of what you were saying in this poem, it was strong.
I especially liked:
The only thing that I can obtain.
I thrive in, role in it

Though I would have liked maybe one or two more verses of description, but thats just me, haha.
Well done!

I enjoyed this poem very much just one mistake.
mysery
is misspelled. should me misery. Good job. Good poem. good idea. It does make people think. I quite enjoy morbid poems with very deep points. kind of like some of my work. Dark things illuminate what should be brought to light (paradox again!!!!).

Hello Flower! You have the honor of receiving my very first review on this Day of Reviews. So, I like this poem. I particularly like how it starts off looking like just another emo rant, but around the middle the true theme becomes apparent: someone who flaunts their own psychosis for the sake of getting attention. I've met a couple of people like that (dated one in fact) and they make me want to just slap them in the face.

when you know your loved?

That should be "you're."

I thrive in, role in it.

I think you mean to say "roll."

I shower in the pain
and lies.

These two lines are a little weird, but maybe you intended them to be? Haha.

I taught myself to enjoy the mysery.

I think someone has already said this, but it's "misery."

It's crazy, almost manical

That's "maniacal," dear. ;)

but I'm not crazy.

The heck you aren't! XD

I live for the blade
for the looks I get
when people see my scars.

I almost laughed out loud when I read this part, because it reminds me so much of this guy I know . . . I feel sorry for him but at the same time, he's so pathetic it's kind of a joke. And it's so obvious he does it for attention. Ugh.

I look for the relationships,
that end in tears.

Hmmm, sounds like someone else I know. . . .

The tears that leak like blood
down my face.

Black blood full of darkness.
Crazy? No. I'm not crazy.

I've learned that life
is full of pain.

Normally I would gripe about the clicheness of these lines, but as it's obvious you made them that way for satirical purposes, I will instead give you an approving nod. *nods*

In fact, the same principle applies to the poem. Without the subtle humor involved here, this would be just another oh-I'm-so-numb-and-cold-and-broken-fear-me spiel. But because it's actually making fun of such spiels, it's quite a good piece.

~Warrior Princess
You must be swift as the coursing river,
With all the force of a great typhoon,
With all the strength of a raging fire,
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

I should infinitely prefer a book.
