I'm dreadful at making introductory posts, so please forgive me if I sound really generic and dull. It's the eternal introductory-post quandry; the harder you try to sound interesting and kooky, the more boring you seem.

Anyway, my name is Amy. I'm sixteen and from Wales. I like to write realistic, character-centric YA. If I'm honest, plots are a bit of a weakness for me - I couldn't write a crime novel if I tried. It would just be one guy getting murdered and everyone else angsting and drinking coffee for three-hundred pages. I've had a short story published in an anthology by Red House and ultimately I want to be an author.

I'm working on a novel right now. It's in something stupid like its sixth redraft. I'm determined to complete it, though. Other than writing, I like watching Glee, keeping up with politics and blogging. I'd really like to make friends here but it feels like stepping into a party where I don't know anyone - I'm a bit too awkward.

Hello Amy of Wales! I am Cherish of Chelsea, a boring little town in Vermont. Don't worry about hte generic and dull, it's an introductory post; they're all like that, well, a lot of them. As for plot lines, if you can write it well, don't worry about finding a plot; anyone (myself included, :D) will help you find one!

nd as for friends, why, if you want, I'll be your friend! We're all a little wacked here anyways, so dont worry about fitting in; I'm sure you'll do fine. PM me, or post on my wall if you need anything or just wanna talk!
You have been adressed by the Lady of the Dragons, lol

Thanks, Cherish and Pointe :) Nice to meet you.

Pointe, I love the Hunger Games. I have a giant, he's-perfect-in-a-fictional-sort-of-way crush on Peeta as well.

Hello Amy! Welcome to The Young Writers Society. I really don't think an introductory post is boring as it is serving a specific purpose, which fully delivers ^^ I am a bit like you in what comes to prefering character-centric stories over plot-driven ones - I should definitely try a crime novel one of these days to see if I could get the characters do more than drinking coffee! Possibly having them hold a magnifier. I don't know.

Do you maintain a blog? If so, I would love to take a look at it!

Please don't feel awkward - look at me, on my first day coming back from a hiatus and already welcoming new members. We set the rhythm of the party, others can follow if they wish! And everyone is very nice in here as you can see :)

Let me know if there is something I can help you with!

Hey, Amy! Glad you came across this site. You'll find that it is addicting, somewhat maddening, and just a pinch of strange. Perfect ingredients, no?

Actually, I hardly found your introduction dull at all. I look forward to getting to know you more!I love the Hunger Games, too. And don't worry: I haven't seen a single crime novel since I signed up. I think everyone here has the same plight as you. At least, I know I do.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any posts of yours!
