An impossible task, at least for me. These were more doodles during my Comparative Worldviews class than anything else. I was trying to see if I could still kind of draw... I keep having these little spurts of drawing for a couple of days and then a dry spell of like six months, haha.

Kinda rushed- sorry.

1. The two side ones are kind of wonky. :/

can definately see, on the first one, your progression. the hardest thing is getting hte spacing right cause hands can looked effed up in person, let alone on a piece of paper.

I often avoid picture with detailed hands, unless their the center of the picture their hell.

I like #2. but again its proportion. you can probably tell the pointer finger's knuckle is too large from what the rest of the hand is, which therefore makes everything else have to move a bit - ugh yah i hate drawing hands.

good job. now to add callouses and cuts, etc! yay *eyeroll in sympath*

Hands are definitely the hardest human part to draw. But these aren't bad they are pretty good, actually. Like Dierde said above, spacing is the hard thing.

My favorite would have to be #2 also, because I just love it and the shadows are awesome :)
Second favorite would have to be the one on the far right in the #1.

They all look like they have the right proportion to me, which is an excellent thing :) If you have the proportion, spacing comes naturally. The only thing I would suggest is to add more shadows. You already have a bit shadowing in there but it's not dark enough. You'll see, just darkening those and adding more will make your drawings come 3D, so you can see what's behind and all. What I generally do is do all the shading, dark to pale, but all shading, then erase where the light hits. It gives a nice three dimensional feel to my drawings.
Beautiful!
Keep on drawing!

Ahhh yes, hands. The bane of any artist's existence. Don't worry, Perse, we all feel the pain. I thought yours were cute, and good for having done them in class. All you have to do now is some shading and ease the outlining a little bit and I think they'll look pretty darn good. The thing to watch with doing hands is the proportion and I think another reviewer might have already mentioned it, but I'll just briefly say it again. :) Watch the proportions. Haha, no but really, it's hard since there are so many lines and creases and edges to a hand. It's difficult to keep track and make it look as realistic as you can. I think that you did a great job of proportionalizing in the first picture on the hand to the right. With some shading it'll be quite nice. At this moment however, you have a skeleton yard of hands just asking to be fleshed out. Flesh them! They're so naked! :D

Happy Drawing!

It seems like you have a problem with pinkie lengths. they seem a little long. Although, you're very good at all the wrinkles. In the first picture, the hand with the shadow, I think the fingers could have used more shading. Overall, I love your hands!

I really like these.
I'm rubbish at drawing hands but you've done these really well. I like the detail and the shadings and I especially enjoyed the second one. I think you did it really well.
You have a talent. Carry on drawing. Keep up the good work.
Well done!

Hey there Coral,

Sorry, I'm not here do to a proper review because, well, I can't. Haha. I have absolutely no talent and drawing in general hates me. (;))

I just wanted to comment that I thought these came out well, even if they were rushed, but my favourite one, the one I thought you succeeded in most, was the 'cross your fingers'. The hand looks so real!

Anyway. That was it. You are quite the talented artist.

This is so ironic for me to have found these pieces of art. I just posted a new work called "My Brother's Hands", and I thought I was the only one to agree that hands are the hardest things to draw among all else! But it's so rewarding when you finally master it. I think these are actually not bad, but they could be far better perfected proportion wise. It takes a lot of practice, but also some basic knowledge of human anatomy. Believe it or not, many artists suggest taking a course or two on anatomy so that they become better skilled at theses type of things. Knowing where every bone falls allows you to understand where each shadow lays, and each little curve and line of the thing you are meaning to draw. Satisfactory work though. You should continue drawing a lot more. Pracice does make perfect! :)

Good work, considering hands are so hard to draw! Overall you have done a good job. Personally i suck at drawing hands, an i highly doubt i could have done anything better than you have. But i would check out proportion, in a lot of them the palm is either to big or to small and vice versa for the fingers. Also the fingers need to be more organic each finger, really depending on the individual can have it's own curves. Also your palms need to e less block. Personally i don't find spaceing all that hard instead proportion.

Nice to see you practicing!

Wow. I'm really not good at drawing hands, and hence, I only draw stick figures :D

In the first one I liked the hand which is on the right side of the page the most, it's really good.

The second one was amazing, I really liked the level of detail in the picture (you're handwriting's pretty good by the way ;))

The last one looks like an old guy's hand, don't know if it was meant to be that or not, but it's still pretty awesome.

I really liked some of the hands, but others looked too square and wonky, like the side of the hand with the thumb is very... just wrong. Out of the first sketch I really like hand on the right and the bottom left. Those were nice =] But I think shading would make them a lot better and just work on the thumbs. Other than that I think they're fairly good. =] keep it up.
