Blah, where to hide? Oh, I don't know. What would Wolfie do? Well he would probably open up some portal and slip into the one of the other-worlds. I can't concentrate, they will be here any minute. Maybe... no.... yes! I'll go to that weird mountain with Wolfie. I run up the stairs, the floor boards squeaking under me into a room on my right. The smell hit me like a ton of bricks, alcohol, vomit and piss. I found him lying on his bed drinking Jack straight from a bottle looking rather melancholy. He gave me an angry look. " Hurry up i need to hide! Take me to that weird snowy mountain with the Yeti people," i said jumping up and down. He yawned. "No, **** off, you ****. Leave me alone. Go bother someone else," he snarled pointing at the door. I gave jumping up anhim my puppy eyes. " Please! please! I love you! I'll do anything!" i said theatricality. He jumped out of his smelly bed and grabbed me by the collar lifting me across the room. I screamed and squirmed trying to kicking him in the nuts. He reached for his big black closet and opened the door throwing me inside! i feel into a sea of black hitting my head on the inside of the hardwood closet. " You can hide there!" he said before slamming the door on my face. I heard something being locked. Dam... I really hope you find me.
I start to run the second the counting starts. Thorns tangle around my ankles, tearing into my jeans. I run until the counting is barely more then a whisper in the wind. Then I find a big tree and pull myself up into it's branches. I climb until the ground is so far away that butterflies appear in my stomach when I look down. A gust of wind pushes the tree this way and that. I cling to my branch hard enough that the barks cuts into my palms. Damn. This seemed like a much better idea on the ground.
What a shame, We used to be such fragile broken things.
Oh great I thought to myself. Only 5 seconds left and I still hadn't found a hiding place. Turning I rush into some nearby bushes, ruining my sweater on the twigs. This game better be worth it i thought as I hugged my knees to my chest and placed my iPod headphones in.

Off in the distance, I can hear her counting. She goes on. "54. 55. 56." I panick because she promised a count down up to 70. I run of into the woods knowing I'll find somewhere to hide. "Ready or not, here I come." She calls. I run through the path in the woods. Rasberry bushes tear at my skin as I run past. Aha! I see a rabbit run into a hollowed out tree. I climb to the top and slide down inside.
Hours pass, "Amanda!" She calls out. I've tried shouting, nobody hears, I've tried to climb out, I just slip and slide. The rabbit got out through a small hole in the bottome of the tree, but I'm far to large to fit through that. The air becomes dark and I fall to sleep with the sound of people runing around me calling my name. Will I ever get out of this tree? Will anyone ever find me?
I remember when I was a child and still learning to use my cybergenetic implant, I was the KING of hide and seek. ( I guess that's why I'm a secret agent now. ) But then one of my friends got a metal detector. I still hate him. Oh, shoot, that's right! He's counting right now! Never in all of my career has my jet pack been so useful as right now. Before, my life depended on it. Right now, I need to stay Hide-And-Seek king. Period. If I shoot the seeker with a stun ray, is it considered cheating?
Ahhh!!! I thought quickly as the numbers sounded. I looked around quickly, not seeing anywhere hidden enough. Where to hide? My eyes flew to the house. No, too obvious. Maybe the barn? No, that would be the first place I would look. My eyes darted to the well. A smile spread accross my face. If I am going to hide out in the open, then it is only fair that I have a weapon. I ran over and grabbed an already full bucket of water and ran to the trees, choosing a short one. I quickly and quietly climbed up the first few branches, narrowly loosing the entire bucket of water. I crouched and I waited.
"Ready or not, here I come!" Came the voice. I waited patiently, closing my eyes evening out my breathing to hide myself further. I heard a twig snap below my tree. My eyes flew open and my head darted down. There they were, only a few strides away from where I sat, waiting. I could only see thier feet, but as they took another step into the forest, legs came into view. I pulled the bucket silently forward as they took another step.
Come on, I thought. Almost there. They took another step, this time directly towards my tree instead of straight into the forest. I could see the head. They looked around, their eyes skimming over where I sat. One more step, and I tilted the bucket forward. The water came splashing out, landing directly on their left shoulder. Their head shot up, starring me in the eye, a devilish mischievious grin spreading on their face.
"I'm gonna get you," They threated. I smiled as I dropped the bucket and jumped down from the tree...

I heard the counting, as they started, a ran as fast as a pyromancer could. I thought as a ran, and thought, -at least its not life or death-. I heard 50, 51, 52 in the distance, and remembered, this is a game where loosing will get me killed, as the seeker is my archenemy giving me one day to stay hidden, and if found will take my like, and realize, i can use fire to make a wall around me noone would dare walk through. I make the fire walls and seal it on the top with a fire ceiling, noone would get me here.

"Three, Four, Five, Six..." The numbers fade as I run away from the willow tree the seeker is counting under. I glance behind me at the willows and ponds covering the peaceful elvish sanctuary, then turn back. I pause a moment under the shady bough of a tree above to readjust my quiver holding my crossbow and arrows. As an elf, I can never go anywhere without them. I quickly look around for a safe place to hide. A feeling of panic rises up in my chest as my keen ears hear the seeker tell the others, "...Twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen..." Ugh, I think. Twenty more seconds. I begin tearing through thick gold-colored bushes surrounding the perimeter of the gardens, thorns and twigs slapping and clawing at my face. Once I reach a small area in the thick foliage large enough for my slender body, I squat low to the earthy floor. I steady my breathing as my ears detect the counter reaching the final number. "Thirty-five! Here I come!" I swallow down a gulp, fighting my elvish instincts to ply my bow and run. I wait in my shady hiding spot and listen for footsteps to give away the location of the seeker. When I didn't hear any, I figured he must have used magic to silence his steps. Still squatting, I survey my surroundings. The tall bushes enclosing me only allow small strands of sunlight to reach the ground, causing the air around me to feel cool. I shiver, mostly from anticipation. Then I hear it: the quiet rustling of leaves. "Quarleia, prettuun," I whisper in ancient elvish magic, standing now. The gold bushes in front of me slowly part to form an opening, so now I can see what's coming ahead. It's the counter and he spots me. I have just enough warning to speak another magical word and command the water stored under the soil to follow my hand motions. I point toward the elf rushing to my hiding place and a large spout of water shoots up under his feet. He slips on the slick earth and tumbles backwards landing on his bottom. "Hey, I said no manipulating the elements!" he shouts playfully, still laying on the ground. Another little stream of water pops him in the eye. I giggle and respond, "How did you know I was in here?" The elf answers, "You are the loudest hider in the history of Hide-and-Go-Seek."

"Twenty-one, twenty-two..." I suppose I'll go and hide, if I must. I glance about the place, seeing others flee as if their lives depended on it. A few of them seemed armed, some frantically ran to fetch impromptu weaponry. Glad I'm always prepared in that aspect. I wander towards a small cluster of gold-colored bushes where I'd seen an elf sprint for cover. I sensed some small applications of elemental magic and grinned to myself from under my cloak. This might turn out to be very fun... I jogged quietly to the stand of trees I'd seen earlier, not far from the golden bushes, wrapping myself in shadows as I went. I hid right next to a large tree and bent my form and shadow to match the tree's shadow. Time to kick back and watch the show... The elven seeker flitted from the willow he was counting from and glanced around. I watched him as he closed his eyes, smiled to himself, and headed to the golden bushes. I'd forgotten how keen elven ears were... Must be a careless elf over yonder... Careless was an understatement, for the "hiding" elf stood up and motioned with their hands and harnessed some magic. There's my cue... I used my magic to slip from shadow to shadow to end up right behind the "hiding" elf as the seeker slipped. " Hey, I said no manipulating the elements!" he shouted playfully, still laying on the ground. Another little stream of water popped him in the eye. The hiding elf giggled and responded, "How did you know I was in here?" He answered, "You are the loudest hider in the history of Hide-and-Go-Seek." He'll never find me here... Unless... Harnessing my power, I motioned silently... "Yowww!! What the....!" The seeker jumps to his feet as his feet blaze to life. The other elf laughs and motions to extinguish the flames with some water. "I guess someone else thought that would be funny..." he said as the flames turned to smoke. "Well, you're still the worst hider in Hide-and-Go-Seek history..." He then grumbled and looked around. "Well, whoever it was, I'll find them and teach them a thing or two..." As he stalked off, he didn't really notice the shadow that flitted from place to place, even in his own shadow... I could keep this up all day...
The purple eyed girl ran the minute conutdown began. In her hands, she carried a small bundle of black fur. She stopped a good distance away - close enough to hear the count, but far enough to be hidden - and looked around. The sparse trees were spread across the grassland like sesame seeds on a loaf of bread, and the darkening overhead sky brought with the premonition of a stormy night. Looking back at the bundle in her arms, she kneeled down on the dry grass. "Hey there", she said, letting down the little black jaguar cub. The cub looked at her with intelligent forest green eyes, and she smiled. "Misty, can you lead me to a safe hiding place?" she asked. He cub cocked an eye at her, one ear drooping down, as if asking why. "It's a game silly. Don't worry. Will you help me?" The cub gave her another look, and a quiet roar, and nodded. Syca smiled, and followed her pet into the undergrowth, adjusting the gloves she wore in the process. After all, she may need to attack at any moment.

i ran, mostly because that was what everyone else was doing. Trying to find a place to hide. I cross the empty street and climbed the tall metal gates of the local cemetery. The foggy night air did not help my eye sight. I looked around for a decent hiding place and saw it. A dug up hole in the ground. An empty grave? without hesitation i ran towards it and jumped in. "it's cold in here" i thought out loud. The air around me became restricted and the darkness made me slightly claustrophobic.
"36, 37, 38..." My time is finishing, but I still do not know exactly where to go. Perhaps the statue of Zeus, although when I think about it, even if it were wide enough to hide me, he might take it wrong and strike me down with a bolt of lightning. No, better something safe. "I should have stayed inside the city" I think. That's where the base is, and inside there would be many more places to hide in. And now they won't let me in because of the war. I look at the horizon, and see the perfect hiding place that will take me inside the gates as well as to the base. I silently thank Odysseus for his ingenious thoughts. As see the wooden horse's outline and some of my Greek companions dragging it. It is perfect. I will reach the base inside the Trojan Horse.
