I just joined, and i'm excited :D

i'm a new user, i'm trying to get to grips with the site, so please be patient with me
my name is laura, I joined mostly to read a variety of different kinds of work and to occasionally submit some of my own
i generally write short stories, however, i only really write when i have inspiration and time! I'm not very good with poetry, but if i have emotions that I'd just like to get out somehow i will write poetry.
I like Jodi Picoult (I don't care she's great ) Alice in wonderland and bring me the horizon.
i'm a walking cliche, but i dont care, and im slightly random, so i apologise :')
If you ever review any of my pieces, I would like you to be honest on how i can improve, as I would be if i reviewed yours

First of all welcome to YWS.Don't worry You'll get a hang of it soon.Reading ,reviewing and submitting creative works is what YWS is all about.Though I'm mostly a poetry girl but still you're right I also write only when I have inspiration.Though I mostly review poetry but still If you need any help you can PM me.

You have every reason to be excited. YWS is a great place with lots of great people. Don't worry--we're pretty patient folks, as you'll probably find out. You'll also discover that randomness is completely fine by us. And good reviews are what we do here. It's what makes YWS one of the best sites for young writers out there.

Posting your own work takes 100 points, the equivalent of two good-sized reviews, but it looks like you're already on top of that.

All that said, welcome to the site! I'm Rachael, better known as Rach, and if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

Some tips:
-Randomness is very welcomed.
-"Cliche" is not a new word on this site, don't worry.
-People usually associate "poetry" with "short" and it tends to get more reviews for this reason. Never include the word "chapter" in your post: it bores people.
-"Blood" is probably the most commonly used word in YWS.
-Sorry if I'm using the word "word" too much.
-I like words.
