A ring rose from sleepers who
lurked in the lobes of the
storehouse of starches -- like hungry hobos,
they hitched a ride on a one-way train of
motion. And they hid themselves
from the mainstream's harsh inspection.
But hobos gone viral can't linger for long. There's
crowding and a call to keep moving on. So they do, and
they're back in the stream once again,
and they grow up a little,
lyse a few homes,
board the next vector,
and meet someone special
in the dark, droning bellies of hovering trains.
And the cycle begins all over again.

I could've sworn I posted this a while ago, but apparently not since I found it in my drafts...
And the moral of the story is: Parasitology does weird things to my brain. Points to whoever figures out what this poem is about. Double points for whoever pinpoints the exact species.
