*I don't expect this to be too good because I wrote it in fourth grade. Just wanted to see how you guys liked it.*

The wind,
The wind,
It sings a song.
A sad, sad song.
It stings,
To listen to this sad, sad song.
The wind,
The wind, The Wind
It sings a lullaby,
A beautiful, beautiful lullaby.
It fills my heart with peace,
To listen to this beautiful, beautiful lullaby.
The wind,
The wind,
It sings a song.
A joyful, joyful song.
It brings me glee,
to listen to this joyful, joyful song.
The wind,
The wind,
No longer sings to me.
It no longer sings a sad, beautiful, or joyful song.
I miss it so, I miss it so!
The wind singing its songs.
It feels as if a part of me
Is slowly drifting away.
Slowly drifting away.
The wind has gone,
It has gone,
Far away from me.
It has left me in an ocean,
An ocean with
never-ending mystery.
The wind,
The wind,
It shall never return to sing,
It will come to mock me.
The wind is no longer a gentle friend,
But a rough, dangerous enemy.
I shall sing my own sad song.
A song of the wind.
A song of the gentle, gentle wind
I knew.

it was slightly pretty, but i wanted to kill the words "wind" and "joyful" and "me" by the end of the poem. sort of musical...

haha. i'd have to agree, and add song to that list. But, since it was fourth grade work, i'm deeply impressed. not so much by the qulaity of the poem, but that in fourth grade you had already shied away from a conventional form of poetry and weren't afraid to use repition. CERTAINLY not afraid. went a bit overboard. But I commend you for this effort. I will now go read some of your more recent work.

great. . . and after I've read it about a million times I'd have to say those words are annoying.

When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
