I can’t see what’s wrong
But I am not blind.
I’ve noticed this for so long
That it cannot be denied.

These words you are saying
Don’t really make that much sense
For some things that you are criticizing
Are well treated in others’ defence.

I’m not really good at writing poems
But I really have something to say.
I ought that this should not take long.
Now, I’ll say it without delay.

There are many of those who like it
And see its brighter side.
But, the others that hate it
Only look at the shadow of the light.

At least, like it for the good that it has
Or just leave it alone if you are dismayed.
You say that it’s not worthy to be liked,
But to like it is the action the others have made.

WOW! it was a great poem. it really is great but requires another look at it.

These words you are saying
Don’t really make that much sense
For some things that you are criticizing
Are well treated in others’ hands

the last sentence doesn't rhyme. i suggest "Are well in other's defense" which shows that there are others willing to defend it.

I’m not really good at writing poems
But I have something to say
I ought that this should not take long
Now, I’ll say it without delay

i suggest another "really" in second line because it is shorter than all the others. "But i really have something to say"

There are many of those who like it
And sees its brighter side
But the others that hate it
Only looks at the shadow of the light

remove the 'S' in looks in last sentence.

it really is a great poem. i hope this comment will improve it =D

I agree with the previous reviwer. I liked it a lot :D

Also, remove the s in 'sees'. The subject is 'they' so you don't need to add an s to verbs in the present tense.

Overall, add some imagery and more emotion maybe. I think that will make it much better :)

And keep practicing and writing more poems! You are talanted.

Overall this is a good poem.I have a couple of things I would like to point out.
I can’t see what’s wrong
But I am not blind
I’ve noticed this for so long
That it cannot be denied
If you can't see what is wrong, you can't notice somthing. Try not to contradict yourself. I would rewrite it like this: I can see what's wrong
I am not blind
I have noticed this for so long
That it can't be denied

For some things that you are criticizing
Are well treated in others’ hands

I think that the top line would sound better if you said,
For the things that you are criticizing
are treated well in others hands

You also might want to make this stanza rhyme by taking out the word sense and putting in something that rhymes with hands. I liked your poem and think that you should write more of them. Fiction.

Gosh. Thanks for all the positive comments. :D I didn't expect them. xD Like what I said in the poem, I'm not really good at writing poems. By the way, thanks for noticing the subject-verb agreement mistakes. I didn't notice them xD.

Hey, Whisper!

Oh, poetry! My one true weakness....argh.
Anyway, considering that I am a totally wimp when it comes to poetry, I shall still try to give you my best thoughts and review on this because, well what are fathers for? Ehm?
I ought that this should not take long
Now, I’ll say it without delay

I think ought should be changed because it sounds weird in this sentence. I keep thinking that you're going for 'thought instead but I can't be sure.
At least, like it for the good that it has
Or just leave it alone if you are dismayed
You say that it’s not worthy to be liked
But to like it is the action the others have made

This last bit seems a bit like forced rhyming. I usually find poems with a rhyme scheme a bit hard to write since you're limited in the words that you use and it creates a bit of a headache. :(

Overall, Whisper....I think you did a pretty awesome job considering that you normally don't do poetry, as far as I'm concerned. I think if you keep at it you might make a pretty sweet poet! =D
Of course, you'll have to look into the little details and all that chocolate covered stuff but more practice will be good for you. Now, the hear of this poem is quite easy to understand and I like that, I hate it poetry makes me feel confused and I have to seriously sit there and think about it, this doesn't go all the time but there are some where I finally crack it open and the meaning behind it wasn't worth the effort I put into figuring it out. :/

Anyway, I seem to be rambling, huh? Oh well...
You did a good job! I'm sorry this review is pathetic. I mean, I pretty much suck when it comes poetry. :(

I think the 3rd stanza should be left out. It adds nothing to the poem. Also, there is quite a bit of stalling in the poem...I wish you'd condense it. The unnecessary words weaken it. Try using some figurative language to express an image. Good poems will form an image.

And lastly, one of the greatest things I've been told about poetry, is that we should stray from using "I". Like the term weakens an essay, it weakens a poem. Try not to use "I" until you have mastered the skill of poetry...I certainly am no pro, so I stay clear of it. lol

Great piece of work... Good flow of rhythm in the poem...
But do use punctuation marks in your work to make it more interesting and appealing...
Keep up the good work... :)

And PM me for something...
Are you living for the things you are praying for?
