Spoiler
So I had a ton of formatting in the original thingy, but had to redo it when I entered it in here... so it's a bit wacky in parts. The colors and fonts and whatnot are weird, and I'm sure I skipped stuff. The spacing is weird too- the way I have it, the words/letters slant in different directions, but it won't work here. So, if you want to see it someplace else, or just read it a bit more easily, you can go here to read it: http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/Persephoneia/636663/
Sorry. :/

Footsteps pewter
e-cho-ing amongst all silence;
the hallway, a palace of angels
ceilings growing
up
up
up
up
above
heavens and
below.
I did not belong;
fish not only out of water,
but directly
in the sun.
This was a place
of
Gods.
My presence
was a violation-
blemish of doubt and
everything that hurt,
island of evil in
sweet, sweet utopia.
The corridors s t r e t c h e d,
lithe pearl walls
unending Heaven,
out of which I could not escape;
the purity was blinding,
much too powerful
for a stained soul like mine,
despite the way it held me
with a gentle love and cradled
me like a young child again,
I couldn’t but
SCREAM
out my sin-
it seemed to
w nch
re
my body to and fro,
so desperate to leave this
good it did not understand.
Hate drove my heart,
to leave this terrible place of good,
but somewhere in the depths of my body,
somewhere the churning blood and the
under
burning heart full of black,
I wished that I could stay here,
be cleansed of everything
and have it w
a
s
h
e
d away,
and I held on, clutched at that little light inside,
where the dark poked and prodded
out of curiosity and ignorance.
I hoped, somewhere in the back of my mind,
that what I had once been
would not be destroyed in this war.
That little light was all I had left, much as it
fl cker d and fought to keep alight.
