She's struggling to breathe.
I don't think she can even see.
Her tears may not show,
But her hearts bleeds ever so.
"Please, please notice me"
She whispers under her breath.
Faster and faster she paces,
But you never see.
She hides in shame,
But part of her is begging for you.
She wants someone to know,
How much pain she is in.
Running out of options,
She turns to her body,
The only thing she can control.
I wish she'd stop,
But she won't.
She wants to destroy herself,
She likes to feel the pain in her stomach,
She wants her ribs to come out,
She likes to feel the faintness in her heart.
Picking so deep into the scars of her past.
Something is longing, something is lost,
She won't let it go,
Maybe someone will notice,
Maybe someone will pick up on it,
If she's too frail to walk anymore.
Why can't you notice her?
Why can't you see she's begging for you?
And why can't I stop her,
When she is really me.
