The Knight and Dragon
There was a knight who rode alone,
A righteous soul was he,
His lady gone now dead and cold,
The worst luck there can be
There was a knight who rode alone.
He wished so heartily,
For strength and that he be told,
“One day she’ll be with thee”
There was a knight who rode alone,
More lonesome than can be,
Since pains of loss has left him cold,
And teary-eyed to see
There was a knight who rode alone,
He left his horse and he,
Had sworn to see the dragon told,
And thought she’ll be with thee
There was a knight who rode alone,
But now no more was he,
He took, on foot, the road of old,
In hopes she’ll be with thee
There was a knight who walked alone,
A lighter mood had he,
The dragon can, the others told,
Could make her be with thee
There was a knight who was alone,
The dragon near to see,
He talked to it, whose eyes of gold,
Could see the wish of thee
There was a knight who burned alone,
The dragon made him see,
The flames of death can leave you cold,
But now she’ll be with thee.
