He slammed his fist into the wall
He pulled his hair, he felt so small
He felt the tears rise in his eyes
But he was not weak, he would not cry
He threw his hands up in the air
He'd given up and didn't care
He kicked his bed and collapsed on the floor
He wanted to scream, he could take no more
His thoughts filled with the bad things people said
The threats and names and where they'd led
What he'd retorted as they laughed at their jokes
They kicked him down and gave him a poke
They laughed at him and walked away
And left him on the concrete where he lay
Just memories that were full of regret
That was something he would never forget
We all have moments of desperation, but if we face them head on, that's when we find out just how strong we really are. - Mary-Alice Young, Desperate Housewives

I think we'd both agree you simply can't use the word poke. Bahaha.
Anyway, I've revised it slightly so it flows better:

He slammed his fist into the wall
He pulled his hair, he felt so small
He felt the tears rise in his eyes
But he wasn't weak, he would not cry
He threw his hands up in the air
He'd given up, he didn't care
He kicked his bed, collapsed to the floor
He wished to scream, couldn't take no more
His thoughts overcome by the things people said
The threats and names and where they'd led
What he'd retorted as they laughed at their jokes
What furious emotions those jerks invoked
They'd snicker at him and walk away
Desert him on the concrete where he'd lay
Terrible memories full of regret
Something he would never let himself to forget

I think it would go better like this. ;) YOu don't have to do it, but if you really want to win the poetry comp, I reckon this is the way to go about it.

I agree with Maddy except for these bits:

Maddy wrote:couldn't take no more
(because I hate double negatives)

Maddy wrote:They'd snicker
I think laughed works just as well and laughing seems more... i don't know. But if you snicker it's like you're trying to hide your laughter and I don't think they would be?

Maddy wrote:Desert him on the concrete where he'd lay
Desert and left both work equally well. But say he not he'd because he'd is short for he had and "he had lay" sounds stupid.

The End.

bury me in satin
lay me down on a bed of roses
sink me in the river, at dawn
send me away with the words of a love song
