The lyrebird

I am,
the lyrebird that sits by your window,
I come when the sky glows, with presence, amber over black
to mock you while you sleep
the gazing sadistic of the night
Mocking you
a soldier stopping to watch while the children of men are tortured

Does it symbolize war? Like, the soldiers always watching over and making fun of the people? I like it.

A lyrebird is in fact a bird known for it’s ability to mimic human sounds famous for it’s ability to imitate the sound of a crying child. I used the lyrebird as a metaphor for something that is perhaps not entirely what it seems,

No person can be a great leader unless he takes genuine joy in the successes of those under him.
