Living in the Now

You try and try to get inside,
To see what's in my head
You always ask if somethings wrong
The answer is unsaid

Your daring me to be the best
To never be out of place
To be perfect in everything I do
To always win the race

And the two of you, when put together
is always "what to be"
But I want something known only by one
And that one isn't even me

You don't understand, I'm scared, I'm frightened
From what you both have spoken
That I have to think fast and do it now
If I don't futures present will be broken

Some don't even realize
You don't but I do
Now isn't the past
Nor the future to come
-AA
Life can be amazing if your slightly strange

Hey there, first of all welcome to YWS! I hope that you will enjoyed writing and post most of your stories here.
You try and try to get inside,I think maybe you should just write try to get inside because it sounds better when you read it out loud.

Anyway it's just a suggestion. All in all, I enjoyed reading it. Keep writing to improve you writings and read it out loud to know what is your mistakes.

Good luck and keep writing,

Alicia.

Nice! I liked the idea nd title of this poem. the only thing is "YOUR daring me to be the best" should be "YOU'RE daring me to be the best' but other than that well done! :P

The idea that a poem was a made thing stayed with me, and I decided then that I wanted to be an artist, not just a diarist. So I put myself through a kind of apprenticeship in writing poetry, and I understood even then that my practice as a poet was deeply related to my reading.
