Hey everyone! This is my second haiku poem that I've written! I like writing them now. Do what you want with it - love it, loath it, live it, burn it.

The Art of Nature

Sweet, silver snowflakes
Drift slowly down from above
Fall upon her grave

Sweet cherry blossoms
Reveal their golden hearts with
Swirls of spring flowers

Strong, towering rocks
Be the great mountains of old
Meet the peaking clouds

Quiet and serene
Light mist floats atop river
Hungry for the sea

Now I have checked it and they are all 5, 7, 5 syllables. I assure you all that they are all 5,7, 5 syllables; I have calculated them correctly. If you are reading this and you don't know what a haiku poem is, read this:

Five, Seven then Five
Syllables mark a haiku
Remarkable oaf
"As I lay down on my bed, I look up at the sky, the stars and the moon, and I think to myself: Where the hell is the ceiling?" Unknown

"The fun is in the chase, never in the capture" Agatha Christie

Hey R.O.C
I liked this poem, very good haikuing if that makes sense. I liked the snowflake one and also the mountain one, it was very relaxing to read. I hope you make more because this one is very good and i hope to read more of your work. Keep up the good work.

Hey Coter. As I said, I don't like reviewing Haiku's but I'm doing it anyway.

I thought that this was rather good. Haiku's aren't that easy to do, but I thought you did well on this. I thought that you had good imagery in this, but I thought that it would go a different way when I read you saying, 'Fall upon her grave'. I thought that it was a little weird if you weren't saying anything more about it. It seemed a little random.

But other than that, I thought that this poem was quite good. (Trying to find a lighter :D)

Hey ROC!

Another great haiku! And this is definitely 5, 7, 5. Love the subject, you wrote about nature and its elements including solids, gases and liquids in their natural state. I love the wording in this! Mountain peeks meeting clouds and blossoms with golden hearts. Beautifully written.

Well done and keep writing haikus! Really loving them! Best wishes for future writing!

Hi, RepublicofCoter! I'm not a huge fan of haikus in general, but this one is quite good. It adheres to all the rules and traditions of haikus - very beautiful and soothing. I agree with kingolions in regards to the snowflake falling on her grave - it is unnecessary and takes away from the relaxed tone of the rest of the poem. If you wanted to build upon that idea then you should mention it in some of the other stanzas as well. Hope this helps!
